It's my pleasure to introduce a young and gifted astrologer to you.
Cassie Huffman, a double Scorpio, has written the following article for
your enjoyment:
Relating Double Scorpio Energy : Analyzing Hillary Rodham Clinton
Submitted May 13,
2008
The debate is ongoing on
whether or not Hillary Clinton is a Scorpio with a Scorpio Rising, or a
Scorpio with a Gemini Rising. For the sake of this article and because I
believe it to be so, we will assume Mrs. Clinton has a Scorpio Rising in
her chart.
I also am a Scorpio with a Scorpio Rising with some of the same
placements in my chart as Hillary Clinton, and so my objective here is
to give the reader a personal inner view of what it is like to be a
double Scorpio and how people see and relate to this intense energy. In
the public eye, Hillary has been described in many ways: ruthless,
calculating, emotionless, and "Machiavellian". According to many people,
including Bill O'Reilly of Fox News, Hillary has a very polarizing
personality. You either love her or hate her and there is no middle
ground. I can say that as a double Scorpio I have been described and
viewed in this way by many. As we know, the face that others see you as
is your rising sign and this is somewhat of a problem for Hillary. As a
Scorpio you are very direct and straight to the point, while others see
you as insensitive and cold. The truth is that as a double Scorpio you
in fact are VERY emotional but will not show these intense emotions on
the surface. We prefer to show the calm collected side of our
personalities even if below the surface we are besieged with turbulent
emotions. It is not in our nature to bend or break and we hesitate to
show the world just how much we do feel it.
For Hillary, in her career in politics it would not do her much good to
be the woman on a mission if she were to break down and cry at
everything that tugged at her heart strings. She knows as well as I that
it would only make her appear unstable and too emotional to lead and it
would hurt her career in the process. Let me point out that Hillary is
not only a double Scorpio but she also has the Moon in Pisces. She is
incredibly more sensitive and caring than people give her credit for.
When I saw Hillary shed a tear on television all I heard about it was
how calculated and "put-on" it was. Well, I believe that the truth is
yes, she did know that showing emotion at that time would help her, we
think through every move in detail, BUT that did not make the emotion
she was showing fake. As I stated before she IS very emotional as a
person (according to her chart). You see now why she can't win for
losing. If she shows emotion it is seen as contrived, and if she doesn't
she is cold and untouchable. "You will never know the real Hillary", I
have heard someone remark about her. Actually as a double of any sign
you do know the real person, more so than someone with a different sun
sign and rising sign. We put it out there as it is love it or loathe it.
Although we may hide emotions our character is as in your face as it can
be. What you see is what you get.
Hillary did in fact chair the Arkansas Educational Committee and she
co-founded Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families. I believe that
her dedication to watching out for our children is but one thing that
truly shows her heart, that some would claim she lacks. It is true that
as a double Scorpio you can choose to exude either the negative
attributes of the sign, or the positive, depending on the morals of the
individual. I will not say that as a politician that Hillary Clinton has
never done anything shady to advance her career, in fact I have never
even met her and wouldn't have the slightest idea if she had done
something questionable in her long career. What I do know is that
politics is a dirty game no matter how you look at it, and you can't run
with wolves if you happen to be a bunny.
I know that as a double Scorpio I am direct, passionate, intense,
determined, and impatient. On a lighter note I am deeply loyal,
trustworthy, dependable, and sincere. Each individual with a double
Scorpio energy will embody a different mixture of positive and negative
traits depending on their own personal morals, beliefs, and goals in
life. Whatever traits a double Scorpio projects you can be sure of one
thing, they will ALL be intense. When you have such an intense energy it
is like feeling that you have a torrent of power that needs to be
directed at a single cause and no matter what you will do everything in
your power to make sure that your goal is met. In Hillary's case she may
not end up with the nomination let alone the Presidency, but she will
not stop until there is no other option but to concede. I hear people
everyday call for her to throw in the towel and as she has said she will
not quit. For a woman with such an intense personality and drive, there
is no way she will stop at something she has clearly worked her entire
life to achieve, unless she is forced out with absolutely no other
option. Is it my mistake or is that the kind of leader this country
needs?
I can't say I agree with everything Senator Clinton supports, but the
sheer fight in her and will to drive forward is something to be admired
no less. If you have someone constantly turning around in circles to see
what everyone else is thinking before deciding what THEY believe, you'll
never climb a mountain, and certainly never move one! The fact that she
COULD be the first female President in history is an indication that she
has persevered through insurmountable odds her entire life just to be in
that position. Such is the energy of a double Scorpio, when we feel
strongly enough about something we truly want to do, there will be
nothing to stand in our way at least in our minds. It is one thing to
talk of this energy and drive, and another to feel it. Hillary Clinton
has overcome tremendous odds over and over again, so whether you feel
she is a strong leader and a role model for women, or the devil
incarnate, it is really irrelevant because the facts speak for
themselves.
Being a Double Scorpio is a hard thing sometimes as people will not
relate to you on many levels and so many reject you merely because of
your strong personality and views. Nevertheless, I can't help but feel
that this great energy is a gift and if put to use in a constructive,
selfless way, it can help to change many things and help many people
along the way. If one rises above the ranks of Scorpion and achieves the
status of the Eagle in their journey, it will not only benefit the
double Scorpio but also all those that they choose to fight for. Living
everyday with the thought of helping people is the best one can do with
their lives in my opinion. I truly think Hillary is where she is today
because of this desire to achieve what she feels is right in this
country. Her views may not be right for you, they may not even be right
for me, but at least she has some direction.
It is no secret that the Scorpio energy strives for power, of course we
do. We believe in what we think to be right, but what kinds of changes
can you make if you are powerless? Don't misjudge my opinion of Hillary
wanting to help and change things as me saying she doesn't care for the
power that comes with being President of the United States of America,
we certainly do have the ego and it will always come in to play as that
is what it is to be Scorpio, confident and self assured like no other.
Assuming you are not in the self destructive, pessimistic, dark phase of
the Scorpio persona that is experienced by many. The double Scorpio
influence is very strong and complex on many levels, I would just hope
that if you know one, or ever meet one, that you hang around awhile
until they put down their sword. You may see that you have met the most
loyal, authentic, sincere friend of your life. I promise we are not as
always as mean as we may look, unless of course you have done something
that has stung us, in which case we have no problem stinging back with
twice the intensity you started with, but such is being a Scorpio.

Pisces, Virgo, Quantum Physics and You!
Posted October 2007
You don’t have to be a Virgo
or a Pisces to read this article. You have the energy of all 12 signs of
the zodiac operating on a consistent basis in your life. You don’t have
to know anything about quantum physics either. The only questions you
might ask yourself are: “Why am I here, living this life? I could have
been doing something else. Why did I choose this path?” Or “What other
possibilities could I explore?”
It’s buzz talk now that we create our own reality. We’ve heard it a lot
and our scientists have shown us that indeed it is true. The field of
quantum physics teaches us that we live in a paradigm of pure potential
– anything is open to us. Observe light out the corner of your eye and
it behaves like a wave – lots and lots of parallel lives – lots of
choices. Yet the moment you fix your attention on that same light, it
becomes a particle. It is defined. You have chosen. That is your
reality.
Evidently we’re not evolved enough to handle multiple streams of
consciousness and thus live multiple lives. It appears that at this
point in our evolution, we must chose a particular life and focus on one
thing at a time.
This is where quantum physics connects with astrology.
Return of The Goddess: Ceres and Consciousness
Published
in Aspects the magazine of the
Astrological Society of South Africa March 2007
Made it to TopTenSources.com March 2007
Our place in the cosmos is rare and sweet. We live on Planet Earth, the
third rock from the sun, where life is supported, flowers blossom and
birds sing. We define our position and our gratitude for it, by
examining the nature of our celestial neighbors. We have models of our
cosmos that hang as mobiles from classroom ceilings. And we know why
life exists here, and not there.
Since kindergarten we’ve chanted: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter,
Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Being raised in Africa, we had a
culturally specific pneumonic to help us remember the order of the
planets. For the life of me I can’t remember it now, but it had
something to do with eating.
In September 2006, our scientists decided to revamp our current
cosmology. They demoted poor old Pluto. He’s spent way too long hanging
out at the black hole that is our galactic center and as such, has
almost disappeared. And they also added Ceres. The Goddess. She’s a
dwarf planet, not too big in stature but she’s included.
What Happened to Pluto?
Posted August 30, 2006
Pluto's recent demotion from a planet to a dwarf planet by the
International Astronomical Union indicates a major shift in our
collective perspective. Pluto guards our fears and hidden agendas. Our
scientific community has inadvertently reduced that influence by
reducing Pluto's status. But can our fears, which Pluto so ably guards,
go away?
Al Gore and "An Inconvenient Truth"
Posted 2006 - article in its entirety
I had the mixed pleasure of snuggling up with my husband in a chilly
movie theater and watching Al Gore's movie: "An Inconvenient Truth". It
was a very powerful film.
Al Gore ran for the USA Presidency in 2000 and was defeated by George W.
Bush under confusing circumstances. Gore won the popular vote, but lost
the electoral one. Why do I mention this? Because Al Gore mentions it in
the movie. The movie was as much about Al Gore as it was about global
warming.
Al Gore is the perfect person to talk about global warming. He's an
Aries, the first fire sign. Global warming is a hot topic, a fire topic.
Al Gore spreads the news like the preacher he really is. His Aries Sun
shines in the 9th house of religion. Global warming is his mission. If
anyone is qualified to talk about fire, it is Al Gore. He knows the
element intimately having been burned a time or two.
With dramatic and fiery Leo rising, Al Gore must be in the spotlight.
With a packed first house of identity, Al Gore can be very hard on
himself. As he experiences his second Saturn return, Mr. Gore is
feeling tremendous pressure to succeed. Thus this movie is not only
about how he sees himself, and his life, but "An Inconvenient Truth" is
also his duty. He truly feels that he must share what he knows, and how
he sees the situation.
As for the movie - certainly the Arial Sea is dry. Lake Chad is gone,
and temperatures are rising all over the world. I cannot dispute the
facts, but I cannot live in that fear. In my small way I shall make a
difference. I'll plant trees, reduce my carbon footprint, and meditate
on a world green and beautiful. And I thank Al Gore for bringing this
very important topic to my attention.

Pluto and the

Pluto's long slow orbit around our solar system connects us with the
outer reaches of space and in doing so, brings perspective into our
lives. Pluto is the planet of radical cleansing, transformation and
power, and he connects with the heart of our Milky Way, the Galactic
Center (GC), throughout 2006 and 2007. See below for specific dates.

Currently Iraq’s election is
set for January 30th 2005. Talks continue as to whether this
Election date, set by President Bush, should be postponed. As Mercury is
now retrograde - confusing schedules and communications - it’s likely
that this date will be debated into January. If the date stays as is,
this election will be a turn in the right direction; but the course will
be difficult, fraught with violence and with many twists and turns.

Grand Cross Nov 2005 - Jan 2006

Starting in November 2005 and running through January 2006, four planets
connect in a cosmic arrangement that looks like a square or a cross.
This is called a Grand Cross. This configuration contains dynamic
tension as the planets form 90˚ angles to each other and each form pairs
of oppositions. The symbol of the Cross has powerful meaning to all
cultures and religions and suggests that we are at a crossroads in at
least one area of our lives. Through this cosmic tension you can
re-create, or rededicate, the direction of your life. Assisted by your
dreams, fuelled by your hopes and the steady drive of your passion
anything is possible. But it is difficult. Tremendous energy and
frustration accompany this Cross and limits and obstacles present
themselves as easily as opportunity and inspiration.
Bizarre Accidents & Other Painful Occurrences of August 2005

During the first 16 days of August three commercial airliners crashed to
sudden death with all passengers on board. Miles beneath the icy Pacific
Ocean a Russian submarine and seven crewmembers waited for rescue from
the British Navy. 35 miles from my home two young women and a 17
month-old baby drove their car across the path of a truck losing their
lives. 100s of babies in Niger succumbed to starvation and died. In the
Gaza Strip defiant settlers screamed their outrage as the eviction
process earmarked their homes for demolition. The Iraqis tried but could
not complete their new constitution by the American deadline.
Jupiter
and Libra

June 2005
Jupiter, the planet of abundance, was retrograde from February 2005 to
the first week of June. Now he is direct and rushing us headlong into
success or crisis.
Jupiter is in Libra at this writing. Any planets you have in that sign,
and any part of your chart ruled by the scales of justice, is now
experiencing Jupiter’s enormous energy. Those with Libra rising, Libra
Suns, or Libra Moons, are especially aware of being swept up and swooped
along. Librans endured Jupiter’s station feeling that they were going
nowhere. Now the ball rolls furiously forward. Hopefully, we all used
Jupiter’s retrograde to ponder and inwardly search for balance and
direction, as things are moving now.
Astrology of Christmas
Posted December 2004
On December 25th we celebrate the sacred occasion of Jesus’ birth. Like
other Christian Holy Days, Christmas was borrowed from the pagans who
celebrated the return of the Sun at Winter Solstice, the shortest day of
the year. The Sun and the Son became interchangeable and Christ Mass,
the celebration of Christ’s birth, was created.

On December 26th 2004
at just before one in the morning, an earthquake measuring 9.0 on the
Richter scale, erupted off the west coast of Northern Sumatra in
Indonesia. It was the largest earthquake in 40 years. It was caused by a
release of energy when the India plate pressed under the Burma plate
creating a rupture in the earth’s crust 1000 km long by 100 km wide. It
went on to trigger not only massive waves called tsunamis, but 24 other
earthquakes, or aftershocks, that day alone. The following day 12 more
earthquakes followed, and they keep coming. Scientists predict that the
aftershock from the initial quake could last for months, if not years.

In light of the recent Democratic Vice President nominations I thought
it would be interesting to look at John Edwards’ chart. Having done that
I was struck by its many similarities to John Kerry’s. John Kerry and
John Edwards meet each other on so many astrological points they could
be cosmic brothers.
Fall Equinox
posted September 2006 article in its entirety
September 22nd marks the fall equinox and heralds the beginning of
autumn. This is a time when the Sun moves into Libra on a day where
sunlight and night are equally balanced. Interesting that the scales of
Libra strive to balance and that the autumnal equinox perfectly balances
time between light and dark dividing the day into a perfect 12 hours of
daylight and 12 hours of night.
Traditionally this time of year has been one of celebration of the
harvest. Druids once burnt a cloth man, or a “vegetation man” to
celebrate the gift of nature’s store to the human family. This custom
has recently been revived at Burning Man – a fall festival that takes
place at this time of year in the desert in Nevada. During this festival
a giant effigy of a man is burnt. Often times this wooden man looks like
a huge scarecrow. It is unknown if the festival participants understand
that this tradition is many hundreds of years old and that they are
celebrating the gift of vegetables and the spirit of growing things.
In Christianity the equinox is celebrated as Michaelmas, the feast of
the Archangel Michael. The Archangel Michael is associated with the
planet Mercury, the great communicator. He is also associated with Thoth,
the Egyptian God of the Dead, as he balances (the Libra theme again) and
weighs the deeds of the dead between their good and their bad acts.
Michaelmas is a time to settle debts, pay the rent and to prepare
financially for the months ahead. At Michaelmas a fattened goose is
eaten to symbolically protect the feasters from the possibility of
famine in the coming winter.
In these days, as the season turns, geese fill the skies as they fly
overhead on their way to warmer weather. This is a good time to remember
geese in their journey. How wonderful it is to hear their honking as
they fly by. It is said that the geese in the back honk to encourage the
geese upfront and to let them know they are still with them. Their
partnership is another of Libra’s lessons.
As we enjoy the shift of seasons it’s good to remember the gentle
creatures who share the earth with us. It’s good to remember the bounty
of the fields, no matter where they are in this age of transportation.
At this fall equinox where the days are perfectly balanced, it’s good to
be grateful to the spirit of vegetation and the sweetness of life that
provides for all our needs. This is the time to bring balance to the
environment of our lives by expressing our gratitude to the natural
world. And so… to fresh air, blue skies, refreshing rain, bright sun,
good food, health, family, love, art, happiness and to all the creatures
everywhere Happy Fall Equinox, and thank you!
Inauguration Day
January 2005
Posted January 2005
The year ahead is always full of potential but what about for our
country? We’ve just started a new four-year political cycle. This cycle
has its own signature and is found in the astrology of Inauguration Day.
The chart for that day can tell us a great deal about the coming year
for the USA. Keep in mind that no matter who was elected, the chart
would read the same way.
In the Inauguration chart Chiron is at the top, close to the Sun and
opposite Saturn. Ouch! The Wounded Healer next to the presidential Sun
means that the year ahead looks painful for everyone. The President is
going to have a hard time, and so are the American people. This is
indicated by Saturn’s presence at the base of the chart in the house of
the home.
Suicide

tsunamis that they haven’t already said, so loud and clear, about
themselves. They leave us reeling, waltzing out of time, hopping on one
foot.
