Lunar Eclipse May 24th and
cosmic update
Greetings all!
Forgive me not telling you
about the solar eclipse on May 10th. I have been busy
with both my astrology and my psychotherapy practice.
Excuses aside - here's the story on the current cosmic
scene:
There were several strong
solar flares in the middle of May, followed by an exact
square between Uranus and Pluto (unpredictable, rapid
events); and at the end of this week (May 24) there's a
Super Moon eclipse. This all adds up to a banquet of
cosmic goodies and a massive download of overwhelm for
us mere Earthlings (the Oklahoma tornado a case in
point). If you can, take time to rest and listen in.
You'll want to tune into
your personal channel as this full moon eclipse
highlights information, perception and truth.
This lunar eclipse occurs in
the sign of personal truth - Sagittarius (at 4°). On the
other side of the chart is Mercury in an exact
conjunction with Venus (19° Gemini) and very close to
abundant Jupiter. It's a stellar chart! You might recall
that Mercury is the ruling planet of the sign of Gemini
and that Venus is the ancient ruler of Gemini. This top
heavy Gemini energy brings the magic of the trickster to
life. Words, and your ability to convey them, can be as
light as beautiful feathers or as dense of clods of
earth. You get to master your speech during this time.
It's also a time to
integrate the other side. You know that Gemini is both
Castor and Pollux, the twins, one mortal, the other
immortal who both have to share the one space. Is there
room in your mind (this is all quite mental) for another
point of view? Can you open your mind to another
philosophy (Moon in Sagittarius)? The Sabian Symbol, or
image, for 4° Sagittarius is "an owl in a tree". Wise
old owl sees all. Nothing is hidden at this time, the
truth emerges as always.
In the broadest scheme of
things this truth can lead to profound personal
transformation. After all, powerful Pluto is in a tense
aspect with rebel Uranus. You can change! You might even
want to! This aspect lasts until 2015 so you have plenty
of time, but do be sure to let this eclipse open the
windows of your perception. Let the cool, clear winds of
enlightenment enhance your journey here on Earth. There
really is nothing to hold on to.

The partial
lunar eclipse April 25th in the sign of Scorpio

(lessons) in sexy (jealous, vindictive?) Scorpio. What's

The Aries
New Moon April 10th invites radical self-awareness.
Aries is the sign of the warrior and there are many
present at this lunar gathering. Feisty Mars is there,
glorious in his Arian robes; Eris, Goddess of Conflict
(AKA the uninvited guest) and Venus, striking in battle
dress. This powerful cosmic line-up gives you vital
courage to create your own path - to go your own way.
Pay attention to your own affairs. Stand strong in who
you are. We are all part of the One. Be the part you
are.

Libra Full Moon March 27, 2013
The Moon
comes to fullness early morning Wednesday March 27th.
With it comes the opportunity for big, new frontiers.
You may feel like going it alone as there are four
celestial bodies in independent Aries, yet the Moon in
balanced Libra encourages cooperation. Unexpected luck
and love abound thanks to lady love Venus flirting with
the Sun, crazy Uranus, and her boyfriend, handsome Mars
resplendent in his fiery Arian robes.
Two Yods (for the astrology students out there) point to
Pluto and Saturn suggesting that evolutionary impulses
are at work. It's time to push through to new ideas and
ways of thinking (thanks to Jupiter in Gemini). Your
best stance now is progressive. Make something new! Stay
alert! It's a little wild out there and not everyone is
paying attention.
Spring Equinox March 20, 2013
Spring Equinox March 20 could be the beginning of your
future life. Cosmic electricity is off the charts and
the potential for shock and awe is strong. Your serene
emotions, and sweet faith in love and peace, are the
embryonic fluids that birth your vision. Be like lotus -
bloom no matter what happens.

folks! The threshold on stress is low for some people
and they may come apart at the seams. Jesus' words "they

February and March 2013
Dear friends,
I write this (February 13) as the moon begins its waxing
journey. It will come to fullness February 25th in the
sign of Virgo. If you’re hearing or reading this news
past that date, know that the energy of that Full Moon
will resonate for some time. This is because the sky is
full of Pisces energy, the sign of the fish. Pisces is a
water sign and water holds resonance, light and
electrical charge naturally and easily. It takes time to
tune into Pisces energy and once having accessed it, it
takes time to leave it. You have the time you need to
access this mystical plane as Mercury, the planet of
communication retrogrades in Pisces from February 22nd
to March 18th, giving you a window of opportunity in
which to find the still, silent, memories within.
Pisces asks that you throw away your watch. That you sit
by the window sipping tea. Pisces loves to day dream, to
paint, to escape inside to that lyrical world of fantasy
and the sometimes sad and regretful world of the past.
The past lives inside Pisces. Pisces holds the past.
Every memory, every regret, every joy, every kiss and
bitter betrayal are held in Pisces. Be mindful that
during this Mercury retrograde (February 22nd to March
18th) you don’t fall into the primal soup of forgetting
that is Pisces. Tune into your memories, certainly, but

can lead to a powerful desire to escape through drugs or
alcohol. Turn instead to Pisces strengths: meditation,
prayer, connection to the Divine, art, music, and

sign of Virgo is about service. Do yourself the great
service of compassion, another beautiful Pisces quality,
and banish all negative thinking from your inner world
during this time.
At the Pisces New Moon March 11th give yourself and
others the Pisces gift of forgiveness. What a great
kindness it would be to the world if we allowed that to
be. This is the New Moon of Dreams. It’s your special
chance to dream up a fantasy you can live with over
time. This comes with some pain and longing for nothing
is perfect. But the more you meditate on the essence of
your desires the purer your intent becomes. Take time to
reflect and to rest deeply as the energy soon shifts and
you don’t want to race toward an unknown destination
unprepared.
March 20th the Sun follows Mars and enters Aries, the
first sign. This begins a powerful new cycle one that
takes the dreams and prayers you created while
travelling through Pisces, and brings them into
manifestation, much as a seed reaches for the surface of
the Earth. Know what you're creating and tend to your
inner garden like a vigilant and loving gardener.

and yet still random acts of insanity occur. The Cancer

Winter Solstice December 21, 2012

The Sun enters Capricorn December 21st at 4:15 AM MST.
This marks the winter solstice, the longest night of the
year, and celebrates the return of the light (the Sun or
the Son of God). It is also the end of the Mayan
calendar and the precise alignment of our solar system
with the heart of the Milky Way – our cosmic home. This
is a journey that has taken over 26,000 years to
complete.
This deep, dark time invites your purest intent for
wholeness. Allow yourself to align with your higher
Self, just as our solar system aligns with its higher
Self. Let your truth set you free under the waxing Aries

December 14, 2012 Sandy Hook Massacre
Dear
friends, why did 20 little children and their adult
teachers have to die? The awfulness of one's man's act
has broken hearts across this country. Looking at the
chart for 9:30 AM Newtown Connecticut, Friday Dec 14,
2012, we can see that this blow struck right at the
heart of America’s chart. This disgusting, violence has
thrown us into grief and forced us toward Spirit. It has
forced us to search for meaning in a meaningless age.

The
Moon (which represents mother, home, family, emotions)
was conjunct powerful Pluto (planet of death and
rebirth) and square Uranus, planet of the unexpected at
the time of the shooting. The Moon gets to this spot
every month, no big deal, but this time it activated the
unstable energy inherit in the Pluto/Uranus square and
dealt a blow to the heart of America – opposite our
Cancer Sun and Jupiter. This country has been under
cosmic stress since late 2009 and will continue to
experience tension through to 2015. Random acts of
violence continue to force us deeply into the meaning
and intent of our culture and way of life. Can we afford
to sacrifice more innocent lives on the altar of
violence? Is this the consciousness we want to go into
the New Age with? No! No!
Twenty little beings and their adult guardians show us
that non-violence is the path we must go. Non-violence
in our speech, our actions, our politics. Beloveds, this
is the cruel gift of this heinous act – that we, the
living, are to drop all violence, now. Accept the gift
of these angels, least the loss of their lives be in
vain.
December 13, 2012 Sagittarian New Moon
Dear friends, this week (Dec 13 1:41 AM MST) there's a
sweet Sagittarian New Moon. It asks you to turn your
sights upon your star - your path. Where are you going
pilgrim? What secrets do you hold in your heart? Take a
moment to honor what
you love for this is the path you follow.
The next day genius Uranus turns direct and begins
activating the new dawn of consciousness. This is when

manifest them unconsciously. Black Moon Lilith conjuncts
the full Moon inviting your hidden shadows to the table;

November 7,2012
The
Moon, which rules the people, was over Pres. Obama's Leo
Sun yesterday, giving him support and victory; while
retrograde Mercury crossed the highest point of his
chart. Mercury was retrograde when he was sworn in as
President in January 20, 2009 indicating that he has to
wade through much opposition and will continue to do so,
at least initially.
Mitt Romney fought a good fight - especially at the
first debate when transiting Mars activated his
Moon/Jupiter - but generally the planets were not in his
favor.
Perhaps these two good men can really, truly, cross the
aisle and pull this divided country together. With
Jupiter (dogma/opinion/belief) in the dualistic sign of
Gemini until summer 2013, it’s going to take a lot of
discourse. A few surprises lie ahead and my
interpretation of the chart of the USA shows our focus
is on food, farming and the growing of crops. Basic
stuff. We are a Cancer country, our strength lies in our
fertile land and our ingenuity.

Taurus Full Moon October 29, 2012
Monday's Full Moon accentuates your ability to attend to
only so much at a time. Focus on your joys and
pleasures, says gracious Venus floating through her home
sign of Libra. Do it all, says perky Mercury from
abundant Sagittarius, knowing that within the week he'll
be on vacation (retrograde) leaving you scratching your
head. Go, and go big, says Mars actively opposing huge
Jupiter. The best advice comes from the Moon herself,
steady in earthy Taurus and opposite stern Saturn. Be
true to yourself, she says. Play by rules you can live
with.
Shift coming! October 5th chatty Mercury enters

every-other-year visit. This brings athletic energy and
optimism to every endeavor. Though do watch out that you
don't overdo.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY USA!
Happy Birthday America!
You are one sacred place. A Cancer with abundant Jupiter
near your Sun you appear limitless. These are tough
years for you as Pluto opposes these key areas of your
chart. It's an emergence dear Country. You can do it!
America, your solar

4,2013) shows a lot of work for the people. And it shows
a great deal of organizing and cleaning up. There's
certainly a lot of communicating about money and work

Summer of 2012
Eclipses and Venus
Dear friends,
We live in very interesting cosmic times. This report
will focus on the two upcoming eclipses and Venus’
occultation of the Sun. (Scroll down for America's
birthday reading). Bottom line? The emergence of
new consciousness the Mayans saw as they ended their
calendar.
The first eclipse is May 20th AT 5:47 PM MDT at a New
Moon in Gemini at 0°. This eclipse is about new
connections. This powerful cosmic opening is an
opportunity to integrate new information in a positive
and grounded way. Anything begun now has the capacity to
help you see, think and process in new ways. Sensitive
Chiron opposes active Mars teaching us that continuing
to pursue destruction habits is seriously harmful. We
must begin to change. This can be as simple (and
profound) as being kinder in our speech, or, as
practical as recycling instead of dumping everything in
the trash. Watch the French film The Belle Verte
for an enchanting and hilarious take on what this could
look like. This movie is free on YouTube and has English
subtitles. In the movie they talk about a massive
boycott. Imagine if we did that – if we boycott the
stuff we simply don’t need. Life would become simpler
don’t you think? Gemini is about thinking and this
eclipse is about a new way of thinking. This can include
all the areas Gemini rules like brothers and sisters,
neighborhoods and connection. In essence, this eclipse
is about fine tuning your life to a higher, sweeter,
purer resonance.
The New Moon eclipse is followed in two weeks by a Full
Moon lunar eclipse at 14° Sagittarius on June 4th. This
eclipse moves our ideas into the realm of faith, hope
and vision. Venus is near the Sun at this Full Moon
highlighting values and differences of opinion. Active
Mars squares the Sun and Moon creating the tension
necessary to move you forward. A little push could get
you through to the other side. Don’t give up now! Push!
Optimism is key! Your positive attitude makes things
possible especially when things appear much bigger than
they really are, thanks to abundant Jupiter’s presence
on the horizon at the time of the eclipse (June 4, 5:11
AM MDT). As they say “Let’s Tip this thing!” (worldwidetippingpoint.com).
Let’s move forward!
As if to prove that a new consciousness is emerging
Venus makes her move.
This summer, the planet Venus will occult the Sun,
meaning she will move in front of our star. She does
this in regular cycles. Indeed her pattern of five
retrograde cycles every eight years appealed to the
Rosicrucians, the Masons and other mystical groups, who
saw in Venus’ flower ellipse pattern, the source of all
life. Cut open an apple around its middle and you will
see Venus’ cycle in the seeds and core – a sign of the
five pointed star. The Mayans were very closely attuned
to Venus cycles and saw that Venus’ occultation of the
Sun in 2012 would be highly significant. Venus slips in
front of the Sun in a pair of eclipses spaced eight
years apart. You might remember 2004 when Venus last
occulted the Sun.
This is a significant time for many reasons. Firstly,
Venus eclipses the Sun only twice, spaced eight years
apart, every 105.5 years. The last time was 1874 and
1882 and the next will be 2117 and 2125. Don’t miss this
one! Further, Venus is the ancient ruler of Gemini and
she occults the Sun at 15° Gemini on June 5th at 7:10 to
7:11 PM

Venus was known to the Sumerians and was called Inanna.
In mythology, Inanna descended to the underworld when
she slipped from sight to change from being a morning
“star” to an evening one and vice versa. As she
disappeared from view it was said that she went through
seven gates to get to the underworld where her sister
Ereshkigal, lived. As Inanna descended she was stripped
of something at each gate until she faced her sister –
the forgotten dark aspect of the feminine. Inanna stayed
in the underworld for three days and nights (similar
time frame to the Sun’s disappearance at Winter Solstice and
Christ’s time of transition). With the help of Enki
(Mercury), Inanna was able to escape and ascend,
claiming her full light once again. We will be
reenacting the rite of Inanna at the summer solstice if
you care to join us. Please see

own rite of passage to honor this beautiful, rare cosmic
occasion.
Venus will be in Gemini when she slips in front of the
Sun. Gemini governs communication devices and things
with wheels so we might see some huge leap forward in
technology or transportation following the occultation.
The Mayans felt 2012 was the emergence of new
consciousness here on planet Earth. The sign of Gemini
relates to how the mind works, and why we think the way we
do. If Venus’ occultation of the Sun in Gemini has any
influence here on Earth at all then this is the
influence – new thoughts, new ways of expression, a new
set of values. Why not a new level of consciousness?

what she brings us this time.
June 12th abundant Jupiter will enter Gemini where all
this cosmic action is taking place. This is Jupiter's
first trip to Gemini in 12 years. What happened for you
last time? This whole period of time is ruled by
Mercury, the very same Enki who rescued Inanna from the
Underworld. Do you need rescuing from your own thoughts?
Do you want out of a paradigm of illusion centered on
fear and television? Do you want to find peace, beauty
and to live on a healthy planet? This summer is a time
of new thought and being. Allow yourself to let go of
the density of matter and to vibrate just a little bit
purer so that your world can be new again.

Spring Equinox and the Sun has entered Aries - a time of
beginnings. As I write this the Moon is dark in Pisces.
This is a potent time. Plant the seeds of your new life
with love. Stay open but grounded. At the Aries New Moon
on March 22nd crazy Uranus will bless the birth of the
Moon with a zap of cosmic mojo and usher in the next
phase of your life. The deep mulch of Mercury's
retrograde will help you feel your way through what
could be, for some of you, the most significant
transition of your life.
Uranus' presence at this lunation let's us know that no
outcome is certain. The only certain thing is change!
Sometimes we have no control over what happens and this
is one of those times. Despite the uncertainty Uranus
does bring great awareness, a feeling of profound
liberation and excitement. Enjoy!

Greetings dear friends!
2012
is finally here. It's going to be an important year for
many reasons. In the USA it's a Presidential election
year for example. Cosmically, beautiful Venus occults
the Sun this summer - an extremely rare and important
transit.
As I
write this January 17, 2012, all the planets but Eris
and Sedna are direct. This forward motion has an
accelerating effect in that we are prompted to move to
the next level of our thinking and being. Our drain upon
the planet's resources is so huge we are being forced
into making necessary life sustaining changes. The
planet Uranus' move through pioneering Aries will bring
forward new technologies as well as promote
individualization and rebellion. The Arab Spring and
Occupy Wall Street are examples of this energy.
The
influence of Awakening Uranus is magnified by its on
going square with powerful Pluto creating stress and
tension on failing structures of all kinds. In other
words, things are falling apart and yet simultaneously,
new vibrant growth is emerging.
Your
job for 2012 dear reader, is to become aware of your
shadow. No more projection! No more victimhood. This
year you step fully into radical self-care. Nowhere is
this more prominently felt than now until early July as
active Mars travels through health conscious Virgo. Mars
retrogrades in this sign from late January to the middle
of April to give us an opportunity to clean up and clean
out. Remember, self-care means on all levels -
emotional, physical, mental and spiritual. The winds of
change, in all its forms, are here. It's time to clean
house.
Very early on January 23rd the Moon kisses the Sun in
the social and intellectual sign of Aquarius. This bold
new Moon squares abundant Jupiter, sextiles wild Uranus
and is witnessed by stationary Mars. What does that
mean? Hope my friends; hope that by being fair and just
we can choose new and efficient paths for all beings to
follow. Due to Mars’ coming retrograde it will be spring
before we see the results of the decisions we make now.
Make good ones. Support one another. Try something new.
Just
after the New Moon active Mars turns retrograde. The
inward journey officially begins. It's time to clean up
on the inside and to reorient to what really matters.
Mars is in Virgo, the sign of simplicity and perfection.
Do it right, and do it once, is its message. We have
until the middle of April to sort things out, to trim
down, and make healthier, more conscious choices. If
inner tension builds - pay attention. Under these skies,
details matter.

Moon 2011
Christmas Eve brings a
New Moon in practical Capricorn, closely conjunct
powerful Pluto and squared by wild Uranus. The very next day,
abundant Jupiter turns direct in earthy Taurus. This
begins a 30 day period in which all the planets are
direct (except for Eris and Sedna whose retrograde
represents feminine meditative consciousness).
This New Moon is a powerful beginning that has the energy
to carry you forward. The seeds you plant in the deep
dark of your unconscious mind will sprout under this
powerful energy.
Here's my view on how to
use this long lasting energy best: Practice mindfulness.
Be practical. Take responsibility for your life and
circumstances. Get to work on you - at first this takes
place on the inside. Your interior world is the
foundation for your exterior one. Take extra care to
nurture yourself deeply from the inside out. Set some
goals.

And a peek ahead to early 2012
Greetings friends,
I write this as the Moon
wanes to darkness, ready to birth again in the healing
and cleansing sign of Virgo, Sunday evening August 28th,
2011. Two days after the New Moon on August 28th,
abundant Jupiter retrogrades in earthy Taurus (August
30) until late December 2011. It is important to
initiate some order into your life as the Moon waxes and
as Jupiter pauses. Use the small but vital window of
time to do something pleasing and orderly in your life.
Gift yourself with a fresh start you can live with for
at least six months.
In late January 2012 until
April 2012 active Mars retrogrades in the sign of Virgo.
You may redo something, fix something, or return to some
state of health or work you have done in the past during
these dates. Regardless of the specifics, which change
from person to person, your job now, is to be mindful,
clear, concise and prudent about your life's path. It's
alright to be abundant, to think big, but in practical
ways. Mars and Jupiter will trine each other next year
fueling your long range goals in slow and steady ways.
Mercury retrogrades from
Thanksgiving to mid December 2011 in talkative
Sagittarius, exactly squaring Mars' retrograde path.
What can this all mean? To my mind it suggests dynamic
tension that encourages clear, rational and brilliant
thought. Conscious thought and action attunes to
non-linear time and trusts the natural unfolding of the
Universe. In other words dear friends, if we are indeed
at the brink of some powerful ending and some huge
beginning it is happening within each of us.
The Occupy Wall St.
movement is a clear sign of the times. It is actually
the unfinished business of the late 1960s when Pluto and
Uranus were conjunct in Virgo. Now these two powerful
cosmic forces square each other threatening the status
quo and attempting to redistribute power. This struggle
for power and equality continues on until 2016. There is
no short term solution. The issues will have to be
resolved as they are not going to simply fizzle out.
On a personal level the on-going square between
shadowy Pluto and erratic but genius Uranus demands that
we let go of our B.S. and move forward. Perhaps we are
indeed morphing into homo luminous as the Q'ero people
say. All well and good but we are currently human with
mortgages and bills to pay in a struggling economy. These
planetary movements invite us to take charge of our own
situation. Governments world wide may be of no use. Yet
each individual can trim down, be creative, and join
with others to problem solve and share resources. It's
an excellent time to support local business and to
strengthen the local economic and agricultural base. It's
also an indication to pay close attention to your
health. The more time you can devote to meditation,
prayer and rest, the better able you will be to
withstand the chaos of these times.
Under these skies, change
is constant. But don't throw the baby out with the bath
water especially at the end of the year when Uranus goes
direct and in the process shakes things up a little.
There is no greater time then now to root yourself much
like a tree and do as trees do when the weather changes.
Keep in mind that you are more empowered than you
realize. Things are chaotic, but that's what happens
when we shift gears, things change. This is
simultaneously the end of an era and the beginning of a
new time. It's a time of fear and great hope. Be
brave! Hold your head up! Rest deeply.

OVERALL THEME FOR 2011
Greetings everyone,
There should be a bumper
sticker that reads “Shift Happens”
because this is the time when shift is indeed
happening. Shift has happened before and will happen in
the future, what is so different about now is that we
are all shifting at once – individuals, families,
communities, governmental policy, global politics,
species, weather patterns, and earth herself. We’re
going through some giant rite of passage called endings.
This is the energy of powerful Pluto in Capricorn in an
on-going angle of tension (square) to growth oriented
Uranus in Aries until 2015. This can be compared to a
woman entering menopause, a young man returning from a
war, a factory closing, a dump overflowing with garbage,
a dam breaking its banks, or a child in the birth canal;
something that cannot be put back
together the way it used-to-be is occurring.
Consider these images also: seedlings emerging from a
compost heap, buds on a fruit tree. Yes, know it’s fall
and the leaves are turning on Color Sunday, but from
where I sit the Universe is already weaving the new buds
of spring. Beginnings are a part of the cycle of time
too; equally as old as endings. Beginnings are the
impulse of life itself, insinuating itself in its
rightful place. Do you remember the story about the 6000
year old olive trees by Carol Drinkwater? If you recall,
cultivated, domesticated olive trees planted 6000 years
ago were explored by Ms. Drinkwater on her travels in
the Mount Lebanon area. These trees had been planted with
conscious intent sixty centuries before and are still
alive today. Thus the composting
end time we’re in now, another one in a cycle in
a series of cycles, provides the rich and fertile soil,
the spongy, sticky loam of life itself, so new life can
emerge. At this end time we are planting seeds for eras
still to come.
Activist and philosopher Derrick Jensen says (and I am
paraphrasing here) we are desperate for our current
culture to die. We are tired of its violence, senseless
wars, movies, waste, destruction and gluttony. But,
rather than letting go, we fight to hold onto what we
know and thus begin to die ourselves. He added that if
we think our water comes from a tap we’ll fight to keep
the tap but if we think our water comes from a stream
then that is where our attention will be.
And that’s how I, as your astrologer, view the current
situation. The tense angles Pluto, planet of death,
rebirth and utter transformation is making with other
planets, (Saturn in Libra square Jupiter and Uranus)
gives cosmic voice to the situation. We are trying to
let go of what doesn’t serve us. And what doesn’t serve
us is enormous, old, and deeply entrenched.
Birth occurs on the heels of death. Hope is a precious
resource we can never run out of.

solar eclipse in Cancer is the beginning of a new
eclipse series (as per Bernadette Brady) that runs until
the year 3237. Containing a cardinal cross - a point of
celestial tension that encourages new beginnings
globally and personally. This indicates greater
authenticity, increased awareness and

2011
Greetings everyone!
It is fitting that at
this eclipse today (June 1, 2011) that I begin posting
to this website again. I want to thank one of my
favorite clients Ruth for her encouragement to do so!
This report looks at the
basic astrology for the month but focuses primarily on
the two eclipses. The eclipse today is in effect for at
least a week. The basic
rule of thumb, is
that an eclipse, which is a cosmic doorway, is triggered
by the first lunation that squares it. In the case of
today's eclipse at 11° Gemini it will be squared by the
Virgo New Moon on August 28, 2011. But I have seen
eclipses activated a full year later.
An eclipse needs to be
within 1° of a planet or angle in your chart to
influence you. How do you know if this eclipse provides
a cosmic doorway for you, as eclipses do? Look at your
chart and see if you have any points between 10 and 12
degrees. If you do, this eclipse has meaning for you.
The next step is to return to the last time this area of
the sky experienced an eclipse. Eclipses occur in 18.5
year cycles so go back to 1992 and 1993 and see what was
happening for you. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree
then and began a new career. Just a month ago I
graduated with my Master's degree and am incorporating
new aspects into my astrology practice. This eclipse is
exactly on key planets in my chart. A good friend who
has the eclipse directly opposite the light of his Sun,
went through a messy divorce 19 years ago. By visiting
the past you can see the general influence the eclipse
might have for you. Astrology, though it looks forward,
must include a study of the past. If you want to be
serious about your astrological practice, keep a
journal.
Now to today's
eclipse: This is a New Moon solar eclipse in Gemini.
Gemini is the sign of communication but more importantly
it governs the act and art of perception. It helps
organize thoughts and discerns, out of all the external
stimuli, what your senses will absorb. Gemini is, in
effect, your perceptual filter. This eclipse is a cosmic
invitation to shift your perceptual filter and sense the
world in a different way. Here's an example: what if you
did not recycle? You felt recycling was a waste of time
and money. This eclipse may well open your eyes to the
importance of this earthly stewardship and help you
manage your waste more effectively and harmoniously by
talking with your waste service and getting recycling
bins delivered to your home. Such is the power of an
eclipse like today's - change your mind - change your
behavior.
It's possible that
shocking news may accompany this eclipse as Gemini is
always up-to-date on the latest. However, there's an
abundance of grounding earth energy present that helps
lessen blows and encourages practical solutions.
On June 3rd, chatty
Mercury also enters Gemini and it is then that you might
begin to connect the dots on your recent awareness. Both
Neptune and Chiron turn retrograde in early June
inviting you to assimilate on a cellular level, your new
beliefs and awareness. Dr. Bruce Lipton has discovered
in his studies that it is not genetics that determines
disease or good health, but your belief systems. He
calls his new science Epigenetics. Check it out to truly
understand how you could shift your focus and have a
powerful effect upon your life.
In the first 10 days
of the month not only do Neptune and Chiron retrograde
but lovely Venus enters quick talking Gemini and
abundant Jupiter enters earthy Taurus. This indicates a
global value shift of some kind. Pay attention to see
what it might be for you and your community. Look to the
areas of your chart governed by Taurus and Gemini. It is
in those houses that abundance and busyness comes this
month, and in the case of Jupiter, until this time next
year. Jupiter is a benevolent, awakened, optimistic
energy and in Taurus it promises a wealth of values and
a resurgence in the economy that is based on earth
centered products and activities.
The next eclipse is a
Full Moon lunar eclipse at 24° Sagittarius on June 15th.
Again, look for that degree point in your chart and
return in time to 19 years ago and see what transpired
for you, if anything. The Gemini/Sagittarius opposition
highlights difference of opinion and belief. Dogma may
emerge and with it a fair dose of overwhelm. On a
practical level, you can allow this release, which all
full moons are, to help you recenter yourself on your
path of meaning. Please reread my notes on the overall
theme for 2011 to see that the underlying tension of
these times requires shifts in perception, needs
discussion, and functions within community; these are
all things that this eclipse holds space for. Connect
with like-minded others and share your views and hear
those of others. That kind of coming together is exactly
what the world needs now.
June 21st is the
summer solstice where the Sun enters loving, leadership
oriented, but also protective Cancer. Mars also changes
position that day entering Gemini for the first time in
two years. These moves invite new leadership and you may
find yourself empowered to deal with difficult tasks.
The month ends on a New Moon solar eclipse in Cancer opposed to
powerful Pluto. It's time to examine your emotional body
and see what shadows lurk there. If you're in the Grand

Hello everyone,
Welcome to the beautiful
month of February when the Sun sweeps through the
egalitarian sign of Aquarius. This is a time for the
voice of the people - for equality and justice to shine.
With active and feisty Mars poking at the Sun for the
first two weeks of the month, actions speak louder than
words and freedom prevails. Rebellion and opinion run
high. However, by the 18th and after the full Leo Moon,
the Sun separates from Mars and enters watery Pisces.
This shifts the energy completely and things may simply
run out of steam. Attention turns to resources and
issues of healing and welfare as the Sun travels with
wounded healer Chiron. Your best bet is to slowly turn
your attention to your inner realm as the Moon begins to
wane. It's a good time to strengthen your spiritual body
in preparation for the wild time that is the month of
March. More on that soon.
EGYPT IN TRANSITION, WEATHER
CHANGES AND MORE
ADDED JANUARY 30, 2011
We are seeing the fiery,
independent, warrior nature of Aries reveal itself in
the current Egyptian uprisings. Jupiter the planet of
expansion is in Aries for the first time in 12 years and
in early March 2011, Uranus will be in this fire sign
for the first time in 84 years. Both these planets did,
briefly, enter Aries last summer for a short stay.
Jupiter will move into Taurus by early June 2011 but
Uranus, a bold, radical energy, will stay in Aries until
2018. For months I have written about the expansion of
Aries energy we are experiencing now. Here's what I
wrote last year:
" Both Jupiter, the
planet of abundance, and Uranus the planet of change and
innovation, are in fiery Aries for the first time in 12
and 84 years respectively. At the risk of being
redundant I shall repeat some of the information I’ve
shared with you before to remind you of the magnitude of
these times.
Evidence of these
planets together is found in earth changes, like
volcanoes, earthquakes, wind storms and the like; new
technologies like the iPad and other sophisticated
devices yet to be revealed; widespread use of solar and
nuclear power along with innovative energy products;
major breakthroughs in the use of the internet including
sabotage and crime; more militancy in fundamental
groups; increased military action and boldness;
increased lawlessness and a powerful sense of
individualization; contact with extraterrestrials; and a
general sense of revolution, evolution and change.
Uranus’ last stay in
Aries was between 1927 and 1935. The years both
preceding and following this innovative, radical energy
were fraught with change, new invention and radical
doctrine including the introduction of the 40 hour/5 day
work week (as opposed to the 48 hour/6 day work week),
the first use of air travel to take the mail, widespread
use of television and radio, Roosevelt’s New Deal and
Hitler’s rise to power.
Jupiter was last in
Aries in 1999. Think back to what that time meant for
you. Jupiter will be in Aries until early September of
this year only and will spend all of 2011 in the first
sign of the zodiac. Coupled with bold Uranus, Jupiter in
Aries encourages you to think and act for yourself… to
boldly go where you have never gone before. It’s a
laissez faire quality, a devil may care approach to life
where you want to do what you want to do and be damned
the rest! Each of us are individuals already and this
energy will be unique to you. Find the early degrees of
Aries in your chart so you can see what areas of your
life will receive this powerfully cutting of the
umbilical cord."
Here's something I'd
like to add for the next few months of 2011:
Erratic Uranus on its
own, and exacerbated with Jupiter's expanded energy, is
an invitation for rioting, liberation, rebellion of all
kinds. Uranus will not be confined, not by anyone,
anywhere, and in independent Aries it is a recipe for
individuation, aggression and terrorism. Neighborhood
and vigilante groups (Aquarius) have formed
spontaneously in true Aries style to protect common
interests. The Egyptian rebellion occurred with Mars'
sojourn through social Aquarius with the Sun. Mars rules
Aries and is an important cosmic ingredient. Mars adds
flame to fuel, kick-starts events and is the energy that
gets things going. Mars conjunct the Sun in social
Aquarius makes Aquarius energy the context as it were,
for Mars' fire. Aquarius is all about society, groups,
and the brotherhood of man. Aquarius wants liberty and
justice for all and will not tolerate unfairness.
Aquarius is about large social movement and is found in
all humanitarian and scientific endeavors. Aquarius is
advocacy and most Aquarians are activists of some kind.
Aquarius also rules cyberspace and the internet and we
find rebellion everywhere - even on the internet,
Wikileaks being a case in point.
We are likely to see
the flame of rebellion move throughout the world over
the next several months. What do you do about this?
Connect with friends, create community and find ways to
express the vital energy of these dynamic times.
I am concerned that
Uranus in Aries, especially with Jupiter, will
exacerbate the effects of global warming as our planet's
atmosphere struggles to cope with the over abundance of
carbon we release hourly into the air. Weather changes
are highly likely over the next several months in very
pronounced ways. What to do? Be mindful of how much
you're using. Conserve where possible. Store food and
water. Reduce your carbon footprint by choosing solar
and wind power where you can. These changes are going to
take time and the need to make them so obvious, that it
will be easier to make them as the months go on. Join
with others to make these changes.
Thoughts about January 2011
Greetings all,
We're truly in unique times. Planets that move very
slowly are in new positions for the first time in years.
Those that aren’t there yet will be by this spring. For
example Pluto is in Capricorn for the first time in 250
years, Uranus will move into Aries for the first time 84
years, Chiron into Pisces 50 years and so on.
The sense of impending change brought about by these
shifts is very evident this month. January has
particularly powerful energy. The month opened with an
important partial new moon solar eclipse in Capricorn on
January 4th. Eclipses in this sign of business,
government and structure usher in restructuring at all
levels of development and in all kinds of organizations.
Meanwhile, from the 1st to the 26th ALL planets are
direct! This is a rare phenomenon as usually at least
one planet is retrograde, or appearing to fall behind
the Earth in our track around the Sun.
The forward motion of all planets at once promotes
accelerated growth and accentuates evolutionary
development. The floods in Queensland for example, are
indicative of the effects of global warming and we're
seeing this on a huge scale. In other words, it's not
just third world countries that are vulnerable - we all
are. Also, the senseless killing in Tucson reminds us
that the human mind can be a sensitive thing and it
responds to what we feed it. Avoid negativity and
violence if at all possible. Rage lurks like a shadow at
the door. We don't need to let it in via the radio or TV
nor do we need to spread it.
At the same time this accelerated evolutionary impulse has the potential to
unify us and to help us finally come to common consensus
of the obvious changes we need to make. We are at an age
and time when we can CREATE
consciously, together. Fine tuning our
powers of co-creation is the next stage of our human
evolution. This could be totally incredible! Let's not
regress. Take a look at Don Beck's Spiral of Development
(Ken Wilber discusses in throughout his many volumes).
Basically we are piercing the membrane of our current
collective consciousness because it's time and we have
to do it but it creates a crisis within the collective
and the individual. See how it feels for you to expand
your consciousness, to practice peace, to engage in
equanimity. It's not easy but it is necessary.
A way to use this energy personally is to channel the
forward movement of the planets in your life - as above,
so below. It doesn't mean you have
to do everything at once but it is helpful to have clear
goals and a focus. Take personal responsibility for your
life path is the message of this month. Use this month
to ponder, to hope, and to vision your path.
By the 23rd abundant Jupiter enters fiery Aries for the
first time in 12 years and pushes events forward at an
accelerated pace. Yet just a few days later stern Saturn
retrogrades in the sign of the scales slowing down
processes associated with contracts and housing. So
simultaneously there’s a sense of growth, development
and newness and a sense of status quo, even of
feeling stuck or safe in an old paradigm or being
blocked somehow. It’s important at this time to develop
a healthy optimism for new directions while honoring old
structures and developments. In time, the old will
dissolve and the new will take its place but in the
meantime they both have to live together.

The
13th Sign
The 13th sign has been around a long time! The
precession of the equinoxes (which is related to the
Earth's wobble) has us looking at a different section of
the zodiac which includes another constellation - the
13th sign - Ophiuchus or the serpent. The Samarians
divided the sky/zodiac (360 degrees) into 12 signs each
being 30 degrees in size, with the addition of the 13th
sign the size of the sign changes. 13 into 360 instead
of 12. Now we know from just looking at the night sky
that there are more constellations than 13
but for the purposes
of travel, and later for prediction, the sky was used as
a map and can be divided as preferred. And it has been. From a sidereal perspective (another form of astrology
which sees the sky as it is today) you have been another
sign all this time. Whether it's the sidereal, Vedic or
the 13th sign system, the methods are the same - the
relationships the planets have with each other are more
important than the sign they are in.
This flurry of cosmic
rearranging is only a small part of what we're going to
see over the next year. Many, many changes are coming
and with the right attitude of mindfulness and
compassion it should be a good though possibly
disconcerting experience
It's interesting to
consider Ophiuchus as another sign though. This is the
archetype of the snake charmer, the healer, the shaman.
It corresponds to kundalini energy in the body and in my
opinion, it invites a quickening response. This is
really useful to have these days. Look for Ophiuchus in
your chart between Scorpio and Sagittarius. This is the area
of your life where a spiritual quickening in response to
changing circumstances is required. Perfect
for these times!
Another thing... though Ophiuchus has been around since
the beginning of time, it's flitted in and out of our
consciousness. Very shaman like. Now we see it, now we
don't. Quite magical in a way.

Trees - Nature's reminder
Tuesday December 21st
at 1:17 AM MST, there will be a total eclipse of the
full moon at 29˚ Gemini. You should be able to see the
eclipse from any place in
the USA.
It is an eclipse of
messages. Full of cosmic information and the quickening
of both spirit and intellect, this eclipse steps up the
pace of human evolution and urges that we integrate the
truth. The truth. What do you need to do to live
in truth and what does that mean to you?
Eclipses are cosmic doorways that open to invite our
growth and conscious intent for enlightenment. Occurring
at the winter solstice, this cosmic doorway carries
extra import. The Sun sheds its light across the body of
the Earth, which in turn casts its shadow upon the
glistening full Moon. The Sun is positioned at the
Galactic Center and as such conveys messages from the
Galactic Center to those in its path. Imbued with Christ
consciousness and spoken with the voice of our beloved
Mother Earth, this eclipse invites us to transform and
transcend. We are to transcend our attachment to
materialism and the limitations of that attachment. We
are to transform our way of being so that we step
lightly upon our Earth home, honoring Mother's sacred
body and the tiny babies of all species so that
little fox, fledging sparrow, saplings and pippins; and schools of fish
deep in the ocean's womb have their voice through us.
Activists John Seed and Joanna Macy say that we are in a
unique time when the Earth has consciousness through us
and can speak through us if we open ourselves up to
profoundly connecting to the voice of Earth and all her
inhabitants. This means communicating in different ways.
One of the signs of these times is the increased use of
telepathy and what Rupert Sheldrake calls the Extended
Mind. This is where the mind reaches out to embrace and
become part of the Morphic Field of Resonance. The MFR
is the great web of life, spirit and mind of which every
living and inert thing is part.
This
eclipse in the final degrees - a place of great
transition, of messenger Gemini, begs us to sing
with Earth's voice the message we receive from the
stars. Create space if you like at this eclipse time, to
hold open the cosmic door with your candle of intention,
vibrating with the light of truth and connected one to
another, just as birds turn in the sky as one.
