The month of November reminds us that the inner world is reflected in the outer one. Have confidence in your own process. Take the time you need to feel your way through the murk that lives at the bottom of your emotions. Your goal has always been to reach the light, just like a plant. And like a plant, you need a little compost to grow strong.
November is Scorpio’s month until the 21st. Scorpio is the energy of depth psychology and regeneration. This month you get the cosmic mojo to replenish your inner landscape and to truly know what you want. I’m not talking about desire. I’m talking about an orientation to your life’s direction. This often comes from direct experience with death. Death and rebirth are Scorpio’s domain. What needs to perish and what needs to be born are two important questions that guide you through the first three weeks of November.
On the 21st the energy will shift to optimistic, and sometimes bombastic Sagittarius and the month will close on a Full Moon Lunar eclipse. It’s a big month cosmically and globally.
Here in the United States we’re facing a Presidential election during both Mercury and Mars retrograde. Mars has been retrograde since September 9th and will turn direct in the dark Moon on November 13th. Mars retrograde is the cosmic invitation to explore your inner landscape. Having done that, the interior space can then be nourished by the deep waters of Scorpio.
Astrologer Pam Ciampi, who died just three weeks after writing the following, had this to say about Election Day:
“…Mercury (communications/voting) is at a standstill (station) in Libra. What’s so remarkable about that? Well, on past election days when Mercury was stationary and getting ready to “switch” direction, it brought snags, glitches, and communication complications. The last time of note was on Election Day 2000, when Mercury stationed retrograde in the last degree of Libra. The outcome of that day resulted in the famous “hanging chads” and Al Gore’s loss to George W. Bush. If we fast-forward to 2020, Mercury is stationary in Libra again on Election Day. The difference between 2000 and 2020 is that in 2000, Mercury was stationary retrograde, and in 2020, Mercury is stationary direct.
November 3, 2020, is expected to bring about technical difficulties that will affect the voting process and possibly interfere with the entire internet.
Besides this, Mercury is squaring three outer planets that control social and economic powers. A Mercury-Pluto square suggests extreme or brutal tactics, a Mercury-Saturn square brings rigid thinking and communication difficulties that might involve the law, and a Mercury – Jupiter square is a sign of wild embellishments and errors in judgment. There’s a real possibility that this November 3 could be another Election Day mess, with no clear winner and accusations of fraud and cheating.”
Consider yourself warned by one of the best astrologers of our time.
November 1st: the month opens on the heels of October’s Blue Full Moon. The energy is still high and Mercury and Mars are still retrograde. Use the opportunity to both explore and nourish your inner landscape. Especially since we have an extra hour for that nourishment with the time change.
2nd – 4th The Moon in Gemini spins ideas and gossip. Take notes.
3rd – overwhelm possible. Think clearly. See Pam Ciampi’s take on Election Day in the above paragraphs.
4th Mercury turns direct. You have the go ahead to do business but your best chance for success is after November 13th when Mars turns direct.
5th – 6th The Moon in Cancer brings emotions to the forefront. Things feel serious. Authority is the issue – who and what is the government.
7th – 8th Confidence abounds. Notice how much you’d like to be recognized.
9th – 11th Time to reorganize as the Moon travels through Virgo and finds harmony with the prevailing energy. Things get sorted out. Details matter.
10th Mercury re-enters Scorpio and stays for another three weeks. We’re all taking a deep dive. Stay sane.
12th This could be your luck day. Jupiter and Pluto connect making for big, deep, serious expansions. This energy spills into the next couple of days.
Friday the 13th Finally, the green light we’ve been waiting for. Mars turns direct. You should have a clear sense of what you want and where you’re going.
14th Scorpio New Moon invites an inner commitment. Ask yourself, “what empowers me the most?” This is a key lunation – your dreams are supported.
15th – 17th Spirits lighten and adventure calls as the Moon travels through Sagittarius.
16th – 19th Venus squares Jupiter and then Saturn. Is the deal on, or off? Pace yourself as you weigh the options. If making a decision remember your long-term goal. Things feel serious as the Moon travels through sensible Capricorn. It’s still all about the government.
17th Sudden changes in direction. Expect the unexpected as Mercury and Uranus oppose each other for the last time this year. Protect your nervous system. You are what you put in your mind.
19th – 21st Connect with others. The Moon travels through Aquarius reminding you of the importance of society and technology.
21st Love gets scary. Venus enters Scorpio until mid-December. Jealousy and desire take over.
21st Whew! The Sun enters optimistic Sagittarius and makes us feel hopeful again.
22nd – 24th are gentle days. The Moon travels through watery Pisces encouraging prayer and peace.
23rd is especially magical as the Moon connects with Neptune and both trine Mercury. It’s a great day to forgive and forget (if Mercury in Scorpio will let you do that.)
24th – 26th are energetic days but may feel a little sensitive. You’re putting into motion the plans you made before September of this year. Have confidence in your direction.
Thanksgiving November 26th feels different than usual. It’s not just Covid. There’s a Venus/Uranus opposition brewing. The times are changing and so are your values.
27th Do something different. Your values have shifted. Today Venus opposes Uranus. Love and money matters can change overnight.
28th Neptune turns direct and your dreams get the mojo they need.
29th Decisions, decisions as Mercury and the Moon oppose one another. Wait until things feel clear.
30th – the month ends of a Full Moon Lunar eclipse at 8 degrees of Gemini. If this is your birthday you can expect a full year. Travel is usually favored at Gemini Moons but the eclipse suggests you may want to keep your wits about you.
There’s another eclipse in December, as eclipses travel in pairs. The Sadge New Moon solar eclipse is on December 14th providing yet another opening for us to bring hope into being. Stay sane and make decisions you can live with. Nourish your inner landscape. The month of November reminds us that the inner world is reflected in the outer one. Have confidence in your own process.
Remember, you matter, we are all connected, Earth is our home and love is our destination.
