March 2022 – Crossing the Divide

Greetings Earthlings,

May the month of March guide you toward your new path. Even if you’re well ensconced on your journey, you get the opportunity every spring to unfurl your life toward its purpose. For those of us who are truly starting over, this spring provides the impetus to take the lessons of the past, Pisces, in a leap toward the next unfolding (Aries).

Consciousness increases as pressures intensify. I’m speaking of Russia invading Ukraine as well as the general stress we all feel, every day. The increased pressure is squeezing us toward the tipping point where common sense overcomes power for power’s sake.

Notice this within yourself. Notice how your thoughts churn, holding onto grudges and shame. Then notice how your spirit yearns to lift you above that treadmill. You have a great deal of help to do exactly that. Wise Jupiter travels through Pisces, for the first time in 12 years no less, and spiritual assistance and insight is easily available. All we have to do is let go of our end of the story.

I’m referring to the victim story. “Poor me. You started it. You made me feel…I never said that.” Spirit asks that we simply let go and start fresh. This is what our beautiful planet is doing: her dawning consciousness involves letting go of the injuries she’s sustained at our hands as many, many species die. Earth is alive in her pain and turns to focus on her rebirth. We too must focus on our death and rebirth. On what our lives can look like without our self-loathing.

For inspiration, look at the life of Mrs. Fannie Lou Hamer who spoke directly to the heart of truth, with no equivocation. What an orator and champion for justice! She was a Libra with ruling planet Venus in Scorpio and points in Gemini, her chart infused with courageous Leo.

Putin is also a Libra with ruling planet Venus in Scorpio and points in Gemini; yet he and Mrs. Hamer are very different people. Watch them both speak. One is animated with truth and wisdom; the other is flat and angry. Trump and the Dali Lama are both Geminis. Hitler and Charlie Chaplin were born just four days apart. Rick Tarnas PhD points out that this is why astrology is NOT determinative. Your birth chart does not lock you into a prescribed recipe. Check out the documentary on Tarnas’s work on Uranus and Pluto at Changingofthegods.com.

Recognizing that free will predominates within the solar system of which we are a part, we also recognize that we’re part of something far greater than our own small lives. The movements of the planets catch us in their dance and in the month of March the energy moves through water-infused Pisces and into fire-filled Aries at the spring equinox.

Pisces is the energy of compassion, mercy and forgiveness. It’s the sign of endings. Putin is giving us existential angst with his self-serving power kick. His actions destroy peace. Is this the ending we want? No. Use the power of Pisces to soften all evil action and create the present and future you want to experience by forgiving yourself and actively imagining a beautiful turning point for all of us.

March 2nd there’s a gentle 12° Pisces New Moon. As you may recall, we experienced a bunch of 12° lunations in the last few months. There are 12 months, 12 tribes, 12 disciples. What happens for you around the number 12?

This New Moon features abundant Jupiter bringing existential issues to the foreground. The planets are all direct now and line up in Pisces, Aquarius and Capricorn. Spirit, friendships, and the structure of your life is the cosmic focus of this time. Set your intention and collaborate with Spirit to bring your intention to life. Imagine world peace!

The Sun stays connected with Jupiter for the first six days of the month, and it may feel overwhelming. It could be overwhelmingly beautiful! If there were ever a time for prayer, this is it. Consider the imaginal realm as being as ‘real’ as what you see in front of you. This is Pisces energy at its best – where prayer and meditation, art and poetry, dreams and shamanic journeys – can and do influence your outer world. What kind of world would you like to see? Take strength in your power as a creative being! Unconditional Divine love and support is right here now. Personal prophecy is possible. Pay attention to your dreams.

Late on the 5th, Mars and his girlfriend Venus, move into social Aquarius and conjunct at 0°. This is the exact same spot Saturn and Jupiter met on winter solstice 2020 as the “Star of Bethlehem”. Personal ideals are global ones. Your hopes are shared. All people are one people is the cosmic message. Mars and Venus together signify the Hierogamus, the sacred marriage when the inner male protects the inner female. Read Jungian Marion Woodman for wisdom on this inner union.

March 6th, the Moon conjuncts Uranus bringing possible change.

From now until the 13th the Sun moves into a conjunction with dreamy Neptune. This can be mystical and/or confusing. No-one knows what’s going on. Stay in that imaginal realm and dream your way to a healthy, peaceful world.

March 9th, and little Mercury enters Pisces too. Your imaginative powers ramp up! Poems and movies have messages for you, as do your dreams and mediations. Be aware that over the next three weeks, flotsam may drift up from your inner world for healing.

The 11th through to the 13th, the Moon travels her home sign of Cancer bringing emotions to the surface. Peace comes as you care for your home and family. On the 13th the Moon opposes Pluto. This is personal for the United States as this country experiences its Pluto return – a time of rebirth through struggle. Keep your personal affairs simple to minimize problems.

The Leo Moon on the 14th and 15th harmonizes with Chiron in fiery Aries. Use the energy to reboot your confidence.

The Ides of March and the Moon enters fastidious Virgo for the next two days. This is a good time to put things in order.

Early, early on March 18th, the Full Virgo Moon brings both a dreamy and fear-filled energy. Keep activating your imagination and hopes toward the best-case scenario for all. Virgo and Pisces allow us to serve one another and to care for our own messes. Clean up what’s right in front of you. A day of fasting may give your system relief.

The 19th feels a little tender as the Libra Moon crosses Chiron’s path. Healing in relationship, especially after that Full Moon, is likely.

March 20th at 9:44 am MT the Sun enters Aries at the Spring Equinox. A sigh of relief blows through the collective. Fresh starts are available. Active Mars, who rules Aries is in egalitarian Aquarius putting the focus on fairness. Everyone wants the same thing. Let’s do it.

Mercury and Jupiter conjunct over the next few days offering insights and mercy. Take some notes about what’s happening in your life.

March 22nd, 23rd and 24th Mercury conjuncts dreamy Neptune. What’s real? Where and whom do I need to forgive? What’s true? The Moon in Sagittarius asks big questions. Step back and look at it all. Avoid making big decisions until the fog clears.

On the 22nd, Venus pulls away from Mars to give voice to the feminine.

March 24th through the 26th the Moon in practical Capricorn helps you orient to what needs to be done. Especially on the 26th when the Moon meets Pluto and brings powerful insights.

March 27th through to early on the 29th, the Moon travels through Aquarius connecting with Mars, Venus, and Saturn. Get with like minded others, your tribe is forming and so too are stubborn opinions.

March 28th, Venus meets Saturn and sobers up to her duties. Commitment to friends and ideas are important now.

The Moon meets abundant Jupiter in Pisces, on the 30th. Existential issues may arise. Full feelings are likely as are profound spiritual insights. Use prayer to imagine the best and brightest and let your fears go to God.

The month ends on a Aries Moon as the Sun enters a relationship with wounded healer Chiron. It’s all about you right now. Take care of your precious self.

April contains mystery and magic. I’ll see you back here for that.

Thanks for reading, and remember, you matter, we’re all connected, earth is our home and love is our destination.

Your astrologer,

Dulce

February 2022 Celestial Light & the Inner Door

Greetings Earthlings,

February heralds the coming rebirth found within each of us. Where there was a dull lack of hope, a small flame of joy glimmers. In each deep breath a renewal is found while the exhaled breath lets go of what is no longer needed.

2022 features a beautiful, gentle, forgiving energy that we are already feeling. It’s the meeting of Jupiter and Neptune in Pisces coming this April. This is rare, magical, and precious and does much to facilitate the massive healing which is our letting go.

Help is abundant. Divine Beings live amongst us guiding us with books, poems, and You Tube videos. Information is available and knowledge streams in. We’re also tuning into our own wisdom. Just in time too. As our planet Earth experiences a crisis, she comes into an awareness of who and what she is (I mean wouldn’t that blow your mind… my God, I’m a planet!) Our careless greed has pushed her beyond her limits. She hurts. Her animals and seas hurt. She’s given her all and it’s forced her into her death and rebirth moment.

As her inhabitants, we too are cracking open and as we crack, we come ever closer to our potentiality.  Somewhere in you is an undying connection to the bright light of love. The bright light of love dissolves the hard shell of your “reality” and turns your direction inward — toward profound discovery. Rumi said, “keep breaking your heart until it opens.” Isolation and loneliness caused by the pandemic is a gift that allows you to finally be still. In the stillness you can find the door that leads to your inner self. And when you open the door, a path appears in your interior world. You begin to travel it and as you do, a great unraveling occurs. And that unraveling leads to healing. Sometimes, during this unraveling, we try to go back, we try to do a replay.

Does history repeat itself? Yes. In order to heal a wound, events and circumstances will repeat in an attempt to reach a healthy conclusion. This is true of people, and of countries. As a psychotherapist as well as an astrologer, I’ve seen people set up the exact same circumstances of their original wound to heal them.

I believe that at this time of its Pluto return, that the United States of America is repeating the trauma of political divide in order to heal itself. What do you think?

Consider the American Civil War April 12, 1861 to April 9, 1865. At that time the country was profoundly divided. So divided – death occurred on an enormous scale over political ideologies. Sans the massive death toll, does this in any way remind you of today’s political climate?

During the Civil War, Pluto was in the same degrees of Taurus where Uranus is now. Both are slow-moving generational planets and it’s uncanny that one should be in the same place as the other was then. Further, there’s the very same transit of Neptune into fiery Aries occurring in April 2025 exactly as it did during the civil war years. Neptune has a slow (over a 160-year) orbit around the Sun. Could our country be in the throes of a regression – a return to a less developed state in order to repeat a trauma to come out with a different ending?

There’s an alternative to repeating trauma – it’s called waking up. Waking up to what’s happening. Shining the light of awareness on your inner world. When we shine the light of acceptance on what we find inside, the painful feelings diminish. As Joe Dispensza says: “Memory without emotional charge is wisdom.”

That’s what we’re hoping for. We’re hoping for wisdom. This country can have memories without the emotional charge. We can move forward into the clear, new healthy Earth we’re creating. We do it one person at a time until, badda boom, badda bang, tipping point and the new Earth is born.

This tipping point happens inside us. When we tip beyond our identification with our sad story we heal. We move into new terrain. When a whole bunch of us do it, entire communities and countries do the same.

I talk about this now because February brings an annual shift that some find disorienting — from the mental energy of air (Aquarius) to the moody waters of Pisces. It’s a bit like a cosmic cruise! Aquarius is the Moon sign in the United States chart. The Moon represents the people. Maybe some ideas, Aquarius, will find their way to the soupy sea of Pisces. The Sun enters the last sign on February 18, and before we know it, we find ourselves floating. There is an influx of consciousness, an opening of enormous proportions going on and our time in this mixed month of air and sea, will help us grok that.

Here’s how the month rolls:

February 2022 opens on a New Aquarian Moon in square with change agent Uranus (the same place Pluto was during the American Civil War). Things are changing my friends! We’re quickening and waking up. We’re waking up to our responsibilities too as stern Saturn is part of this New Moon. We’re also finding our peeps. Like-minded people are discovering each other. Mars and Jupiter are nicely and tightly connected at this New Moon beginning time. You are determined and energized! Set your intention!

February 1st is the Chinese Lunar New Year! Celebrations for Water Tiger folks. See last month’s column for more info.

The next two days are rich in insight and spiritual guidance. On the 2nd, the Moon meets with teacher Jupiter in Pisces. Jupiter is in Pisces for the first time in 12 years. It opens us to worlds beyond our perceptions. It expands our horizons, softens our boundaries and brings blessing and protection. Tune in through the 4th while the Moon travels through the oceanic waters of Pisces.

Mercury turns direct on the 3rd and prepares for yet another meeting with intense Pluto. It just had one at the end of January. Secrets and insights float to the surface – listen.

Over the next few days huge energy is available to you as Mars and Jupiter connect.

February 4th the Sun connects with Saturn bringing ‘have-to’ tasks to the next few days.

The Moon moves through Aries and passes Chiron on the 5th through late on the 6th. This is an excellent time to begin your new projects. Use your intuition and success is assured. Mars trines Uranus bringing ‘get ‘er done’ vibes.

On the 7th, unusual events may occur when the Moon connects with erratic Uranus. Keep your wits about you and tap into your motivation.

On the 8th, the grounded Taurus Moon connects with the four celestial bodies traveling through Capricorn. These are days for working with the real things in your life. Taxes come to mind.

The 9th and 10th may feel scattered, or highly energized, as the Moon travels through Gemini. Travel with your mind!

Friday February 11th could feel like an investigation is under way as Mercury meets up, again, with old Pluto. Getting to the bottom of things could be helpful as long as you don’t obsess.

The Moon travels through touchy-feely Cancer over the weekend. Emotions may run high, especially as the Moon travels opposite all that Capricorn! Mercury, Mars and Venus oh my!

Mid-way through Valentine’s Day, chatty Mercury re-enters social, sometimes distant and analytical Aquarius harking back to its retrograde in that sign just last month. Is there an unfinished conversation? The Moon in warm Leo brings a little romantic drama to the occasion.

February 15th —  do limitations enhance relationships or hamper them? Venus and Mars kiss while the Moon opposes Saturn.

Wednesday’s 28° Leo Full Moon brings all things heart-centered to the surface. The celestial lovers Venus and Mars linger in their embrace until well into March. Jupiter and Uranus come into a serene connection that lasts until at least the 21st. There’s a feeling of endurance at work. Connect to your heart. Feel your inner courage. You are more supported than you ever imagined.

The Full Moon energy lingers until the Sun leaves airy Aquarius for watery Pisces on the 18th. This is an energy shift that carries the lunar dreamscape along with it.

The weekend brings reorientation in daily tasks and relationship patterns.

By Monday 21st your own feelings return for rumination with the Scorpio Moon. These intensify and receive support over the next few days, especially on the 22nd.

The waning Moon in Sagittarius on the 23rd through the 25th brings a sense of freedom and possibility. What are you learning about yourself now? Mercury squares Uranus – something unusual is coming up in your thinking. Something from out of the box.

The weekend brings good vibes and practical management of stuff. Tend to what’s right in front of you and stay calm.

The month ends where it began – with the Moon and Saturn in Aquarius. But this time, Mercury is there too. You can see your evolution. Sometimes life is a circle, or a spiral, not a straight line. Another 12° New Moon awaits, just two days away. The cosmos is doing all she can to show you how loved you are. All you need to do is find that inner door.

Stay tuned to your interior world. Lean into the Earth; she’s going through her great transformation, and you are linked to her. Remember: you matter, we’re all connected, earth is our home and love is our destination.

Your astrologer,

Dulce

January 2022 and a glimpse at the year ahead

Greetings Earthlings,

Here we are again, one challenging year behind us and hopefully a better one in front. In truth, 2021 wasn’t that bad for me considering the deep pain of the years that preceded it. I got a lot of tough things done that were simply down to me. Perhaps that was true of you also, my fellow traveler.

Whether we know it or not, we’re guided in part by the nodal axis.  That is the place where the Moon, Sun and Earth align to produce eclipses. That axis helps us orient to the prevailing energy. In 2022, the nodal focus will be on Scorpio and Taurus (it was Sagittarius and Gemini last year). From vision and details our attention will turn to the basics – food, security, climate change, money, and deep stubborn feelings and drives. Sexual secrets included!

Another major energetic shift for 2022 comes via wise Jupiter’s move into dreamy, gentle Pisces. This is happens once during a 12-year cycle; a period that opens us up to both our nebulous fears and our fierce hopes. Jupiter will move into Aries in May only returning to Pisces in late October. This to and fro motion encourages you to create a spiritual/mental blueprint before taking action on it; in other words: Dream Big! Let this work for you as you consider your plans for this new year.

Jupiter in Pisces magnifies all Piscean issues which include hospitals (already stretched with Covid cases and staff shortages); prisons, ships, oil, water, flooding and other Poseidon-like ventures. Jupiter will shed light on these matters and show us where they are over-burdened. New approaches in hospital care are likely.

In 2022, beliefs we’ve held for so long recede behind us. It’s time to acknowledge the new circumstances we’re in.

This becomes clear with the first New Moon of the year occurring at 11:00 am (MT) on January 2nd at 12° Capricorn. (Incidentally 12° was a sensitive spot in the last eclipse). Venus is retrograde and conjunct Pluto, both of which are active in the USA chart as this country goes through its dramatic and controlling Pluto return. Our financial system may go through an over-haul of sorts, leading to the emergence of new financial systems.

At this New Moon, the Sun and Moon trine change-agent Uranus encouraging us to catch up to the future. What in your life needs an upgrade? What information did you receive over the last year that you can build on (Capricorn) this year? Connect with like-minded folks to build mental and literal pods of support. Tender Chiron squares this energetic New Moon from self-conscious Aries. Sometimes it’s hard to put yourself first but this is a good time to do that. Get busy!

Jan 3rd brings a somber note, or a blast from the past, as the Moon connects with Venus and Pluto. Take time to sort through your finances and values.

Jan 4th through the 5th are days to reach out and connect with others. Make sure you’re healthy.

Jan 6th through the 8th are days for dreaming. The Moon travels through soft Pisces at the same time retrograde Venus conjuncts the Capricorn Sun. Value-laden insights are likely.

Jan 8th feels a little tender as the Moon meets Chiron.

On the 9th the Moon connects with Mars to help you with a course correction.

Jan 10th through 12th brings your best self to the surface. Changes and tensions are possible.

Jan 13th to the 16th Mercury squares change-agent Uranus. It’s a good time to back up your computers and to stay away from risky endeavors. Chance encounters with interesting people are likely.

Cosmic alert: smart little Mercury in scientific Aquarius turns retrograde from the 14th to February 3rd.

Mercury retrogrades four times this year. Mark these dates on your calendar if you like:

Jan 14 to Feb 3

May 10 to June 3

Sept 9 to Oct 2

Dec 29 to Jan 18, 2023.

Mercury retrograde periods are best used for reflection and reorganization versus pushing your agenda. Stay open to improvement.

The 16th is a key date. Today Mercury turns retrograde, and the Sun connects with Pluto. A governmental proclamation may shake things up. The energy is high as the Moon approaches its fullness and opposes Venus. Just what do you value?

On the 17th a fat Cancer Full Moon unites all peoples around issues of rules and regulations, housing and safety. This Full Moon opposes Pluto, bringing things that are beyond our control to the forefront. The Earth has a message for us. Release emotions in a way that does no harm to yourself or others. With aspects to Mars, ebullient in Sagittarius, your direction and hopes take on new life.

On this same day (19th) change-agent Uranus turns direct. Movement occurs where stagnation once was. Solar flares, cyber-attacks, and general odd ball stuff. Stay sane by focusing your attention inward, to the eternal flame that never goes out.

The energy continues to be high throughout the next few days. On the 18th, the dramatic Leo Moon gets involved in tense relationships with both Mercury and Uranus. Creatively express yourself though your voice may stand alone.

The energy shifts on the 19th when the Sun leaves pragmatic Capricorn for analytical Aquarius ushering in thirty days of inquiry and skepticism, and hopefully social engagement at a safe distance. As Aquarius is an air sign the spread of air-borne viruses picks up during this time.

The 19th and 20th continue with lunar energy as the Moon finishes up in Leo and moves to oppose abundant Jupiter bringing drama. A teaching is coming through, keep creatively expressing yourself so you can capture it.

On the 21st the Virgo Moon opposes dreamy Neptune. It’s hard to stay focused but it’s great energy for art, poetry, music, movies, and love making.

The 22nd through the 23rd Mars travels across the Galactic Center bringing insights and off-planet information your way.

Early on the 24th, active Mars leaves happy Sadge for practical Capricorn and helps you get your plans together. Mars will retrograde in flexible Gemini later this year (in October, November, and December) so use the time now to plan and strategize. I say this tongue in cheek because you know what happens to plans!

Surprises on the 25th when the Moon opposes now-active Uranus. Wahoo! Hang onto your hat.

January 26th, and Mercury re-enters Capricorn on its retrograde journey. Business conversations pick up right where they left off.

Mercury hangs out with intense Pluto through to the end of the month. Secrets surface and accusations are made about people in the highest circles. What have you left unexplored? Search it out now.

The 27th and 28th the Moon in philosophical Sagittarius lifts the mood, a good thing given the intensity of the times.

Venus turns direct on the 29th and financial matters appear to re-bound. Love and business matters flow a little easier now.

Practicality and stuff you need to care for predominate on 29th and 30th as the Moon moves through Capricorn.

The end of the month and it’s a New Aquarian Moon (at 12° no less!). Alas, it’s not as social as it could be given that stern old Saturn is around. No one wants a curmudgeon but he shows up anyway encouraging us to make much needed commitments. Despite the tough news there’s a dawning awareness of the new social structures and problem-solving smarts that are on the table for 2022.

February brings the Chinese New Year and the energy of passionate Water Tiger which leaps boldly forward into new terrain, compared to last year’s Metal Ox who plodded steadily along. Tiger years bring wild, sometimes angry, impulsive energy but also allow for sweeping change and brave moves. The element of water is a big feature: 2022 is a Chinese water year at the same time Jupiter is in watery Pisces. Water is associated with emotions. RD.com warns us to be wary of extreme emotions. Well, the USA is going through an emotional struggle so let’s all do our part to keep calm this year while feeling Tiger’s fearlessness.

All planets are direct now until the end of April. It’s a great time to move forward on your dreams and plans knowing that changes in your life are part of the year ahead.

August through late November, Jupiter retrogrades returning your attention to earlier ideas and dreams.

Late fall of 2022 is not nearly as progressive as the first part of the year as six planets retrograde then. Start the year with strong intentions. They will carry you through the many bumps and thrills that line the path.

In the meantime, take note that January begins on a 12° New Moon and ends on one. It’s the cosmos’s way of showing you that beginnings are a part of this New Year. The United States will continue experiencing its Pluto return until the end of 2023, there’s no way around the political struggles that entails, but these New Moons at the start of this year herald the bright hope of rebirth. Birth always involves struggle does it not?

Stay present and strong, and remember, you matter, we are all connected, Earth is our home and love is our destination.

With love for a courageous and hope-filled year.

Your astrologer,

Dulce

December 2021 – Wisdom gateway

Greetings Earthlings,

The year 2021 ends in a big way! December is a grand month cosmically. An eclipse, a retrograde and Jupiter changes signs. Oh my!

We begin the month with a New Moon solar eclipse in Sagittarius, the most optimistic of signs and ruled by wise Jupiter who will shift cosmic gears at the end of the month. These cosmic bookends provide a wisdom doorway that closes 2021 and opens onto an entirely new phase in 2022.

This month, allow yourself to feel the vision of confident Sagittarius as it takes us through to winter solstice on December 21st. At that time we enter the pragmatism of Capricorn and get to work on the things we must do. In the meantime, let Sagittarius burn your fears in its fire.

You’re going to need some fear burning as Venus retrogrades this month. Venus represents money and love and when the Goddess retrogrades we have concerns about both.

The first three days of the month the Moon wanes. Take that as your cue to rest and renew.

Consider your vision and get your intention ready for the New Moon Solar Eclipse (visible in Antarctica) on December 4th at 12 degrees of Sagittarius. Eclipses are doorways, and new moons are beginnings. Consider not only what you’re releasing but what you’re moving toward. You may already have let go of a great deal at the Scorpio/Taurus/Algol lunar eclipse on November 19th. The New Moon eclipse on December 4th is your beginning.

Think back to December 4th 2002, when this same degree was eclipsed. Did your life change? What happened for you? Mercury is part of this eclipse inviting you to expand your mind beyond your own beliefs.

The New Moon energy carries you through to December 7th when the Moon connects with Venus and Pluto in Capricorn before entering intellectual Aquarius. You may want to make a commitment to your dreams and plans, especially that evening, when the Moon connects with solid Saturn.

The 11th feels a little dreamy as the Pisces Moon meets spiritual Neptune. Tune into your intuition over the next few days. The energy is getting ready to change as active Mars moves through the last degrees of Scorpio. Hidden information arises within you. Listen in.

December 12th, Venus and Pluto meet at 25 degrees of Capricorn. Business and traditional matters predominate. Make smart financial decisions. Venus will retrograde soon. Be modest in your spending.

December 13 is an energy shift day. The Moon in Aries promises a fresh start, while early in the morning (MT), Mars enters vibrant, fiery Sagittarius bringing strength and confidence your way. Later that same day Mercury changes signs leaving Sagittarius for structured Capricorn. You have everything you need now to bring practicality to your energized vision.

The 14th and 15th may hold a few surprises as the stubborn Taurus Moon connects with change-agent Uranus.

The 16th and 17th the waxing Gemini Moon brings news and perhaps too much info your way.

This culminates at the 27 degree Gemini Full Moon on the 18th. With connections to Jupiter this Full Moon feels over the top. Humanitarian issues and what we’re doing about them are up for discussion. Jupiter is preparing to leave social Aquarius for gentle Pisces and gives a powerful message at this Messenger Moon.

Early on December 20th, Venus retrogrades in Capricorn. This is part of her mystical journey. This cosmic celebrity retrogrades five times in eight years crossing paths with the Sun. When she does so, she shifts positions to either rise in front of the Sun as the Morning Star, or sink behind the Sun as the evening star. You’ve probably seen Venus low in the West right after sunset. You’ll see her as a Morning Star in early January.

The scene is set now for a complete energetic renewal. This occurs at Solstice on the 21st. The Sun enters sombre yet lusty Capricorn as the Cancer Moon opposes retrograde Venus and intense Pluto. Feelings, finances and matters of security predominate. Put your attention on what means the most to you.

Feel your way through to Christmas as you assimilate all the changes. Venus has retrograded back to her connection with powerful Pluto and stays there until the 28th making these insightful, perhaps intense days.

Christmas Day and the Virgo Moon brings a fastidiousness to the day. It’s an opportunity to serve those you love. The theme is carried through Boxing Day (December 26th) as the Virgo Moon opposes forgiving Neptune.

Late on the 28th, Jupiter leaves social, stubborn Aquarius for spiritual, sometimes lost, Pisces. This is the first time in 12 years that Jupiter will be in Pisces. This is a subtle energy shift, one that may take some time to feel because it draws your attention inward, toward your truth. This change creates a new phase for Sagittarians, their opposite sign of Gemini, Pisces whose ancient ruler is Jupiter, and for Virgos whom Jupiter will oppose.

The year ends with the Moon in happy Sagittarius as it connects with Mars. This is motivating and propels you into 2022. Step through the wisdom doorway, my friend.

How appropriate that the year ends as Jupiter changes signs and that the New Year will begin with Venus in her new position as Morning Star. Were you ever in doubt that you’re part of something much bigger?

Remember, you matter, we are all connected, Earth is our home and love is our destination.

Your astrologer,

Dulce

November 2021 Deep Water

Hello Dearlings,

Welcome to November and the deep waters of Scorpio. The icy waves carry us until the energy shifts to the warm fire of Sagittarius on the 21st. Until that time both the Sun and Mars (who is happy in Scorpio, his home sign) travel through the part of your lives that brings your deepest insights, and your fears, to the surface. Above all, this is a time to deeply regenerate and ask yourself what you truly need. The answer may be buried deep inside so take the time to listen in. Chances are good you’ll be surprised by what you discover.

Just two days after mid-term elections, surprises abound. The Scorpio New Moon on Thursday 11/4  at 3pm MT is exactly opposite Uranus, Lord of chaos and innovation. What changes in value would you like to bring into your life? Do your roots need some extra TLC? If so, then set an intention at this most potent time.

The 5th is a big day with two cosmic moves. First, Venus leaves gypsy Sadge for more prudent Capricorn; the party is over. It’s time to get serious about life, as if you weren’t already. Then a few hours later, Mercury enters Scorpio where the Sun and Mars are. Intense thoughts, feelings and memories resurface.

On 6th and 7th a little of your mojo returns when the Moon travels through Sadge. She comes out the other side to connect with Venus making the 7th a day for love and prosperity.

On the 8th through to the 10th, Mercury travels with Mars giving communications a feisty edge. The 9th is especially deep as the Moon connects with Pluto, too.

The 10th may feel familiar when the Aquarian Moon conjuncts Saturn, custodian of time. The 11th brings lots of people your way.

On the 12th through the 13th, Mercury opposes its higher octave Uranus bringing new ideas and breakthroughs. Get your technology up to date.

On the 14th through the 18th please be careful. Mars opposes Uranus and these two facing each can be volatile, even dangerous. Please don’t text and drive!

The 17th is especially sharp. Keep your wits about you. Use the energy to push through inertia.

The energy is building with the waxing moon, see if you can feel it.

The Taurus Full Moon lunar eclipse just before 2 am (MT) on November 19th includes the fixed star Algol. Astro-mythology around Algol isn’t pleasant — it includes crazy madness, but specifically the power of Mother Nature, and feminine passion in general. This is a lunar eclipse with a square to abundant Jupiter, so consider yourself warned! This lunation highlights all the things you value most. Social issues come to the forefront. Get with people you love and stay sane.

The 20th and 21st, the Moon enters airy Gemini and lifts the atmosphere. The optimism continues as the Sun moves into confident Sagittarius the evening of 11/21. The warm fire of Sagittarius brings hope and life, much needed as the nights grow longer.

Mercury enters Sagittarius on the 24th and straddles the South node bringing the past to the present. We’re approaching Thanksgiving, that most quintessential American holiday.

Mercury hangs out with the Sun for the next few days. Thanksgiving is a happy, optimistic time with tons of chat and plans for the future. The Moon in Leo lends a celebratory (or dramatic) air.

Black Friday November 26th, could be somewhat over the top. The Leo Moon opposes abundant Jupiter tempting shoppers into buying more.

Allow yourself sometime to unwind on Sunday the 27th when the Moon opposes dreamy Neptune.

On November 29th, Mercury conjuncts the Sun lending power to the written and spoken word.

The month ends as the Moon prepares for its rebirth at a New Moon solar eclipse on December 4th.

Hopefully this month you can take the rich insights of Scorpio to find what moves you. With your inner compass aligned, Sagittarius can propel you in the right direction. The eclipses serve as doorways, pushing you toward your heart’s desire. Remember that you matter, we’re all connected, Earth is our home and love is our destination.

October 2021 — Is it just me?

There’s a ‘bad’ plant in my flower garden. It’s a pretty looking thing with large pale green leaves and delicate blue flowers but when the flowers die they turn into awful prickles that glom onto the dog’s fur and my gloves. A visiting friend shrieked in horror when she saw them beaming brightly in the sun. “Those things destroy horses!”

I didn’t know. I thought they were pretty. Besides, my gardening habits are to let the weeds grow up with the flowers because bees like weeds and I like bees. When the weeds become too obnoxious and even my tolerance is tested, I rip them out.

That’s what Mercury retrograde means to me. It’s an opportunity to look at your crop of habits and plans and decide if they’re really in your best interest. Mercury and the Sun in relational Libra for most of October invite the presence of a witness – a friend or partner who reflects yourself back to you. In that way the togetherness of Libra is really a way of seeing yourself in a mirror. You know that feeling; you think you’re fine and then they say or do something, and you respond in a way that isn’t nice and it surprises you.

Let this month help you see yourself. Go slow and be patient. Libra is known for its indecision and a teeter-totter can be perfectly still. Mercury is retrograde for most of the month which always seems to alter reality in some way; and Mars is hampered in Libra, though some say Mars in Libra is “wise, harmonized and mellow, the way many men ought to be”. Then there’s the ‘perfect’ square of rebel Eris with transformative Pluto which is related to political tensions. As if we couldn’t tell!

Still, awesomeness exists. Just look to the southeast at sunset to see both Jupiter and Saturn. And if you’re quick, you’ll see Mars sinking right behind the Sun, followed by Venus. It’s a beautiful world for sure and October is a month for reflecting on that beauty, in all your relationships; even the one with your garden as you coax even more out of it.

It may benefit you to lay low and gather strength until the 18th when Mercury turns direct. You can still work and do your thing, but generally speaking, energy comes later in the month.

Here’s how the month rolls along:

We get going with a waning Leo Moon 10/1 to 10/2. There’s not much energy to be had but what’s there is good for play and fun.

Sunday’s (Oct 3) Virgo Moon helps get you sorted for the coming New Moon. Listen in, see what wants to be taken care of.

October 4th – 6th lots of little adjustments and some communication confusion. Stay conscious.

In the wee morning hours (5:05 am MT) on October 6th is a Libra New Moon with Mars conjunct the Sun and both oppose tender Chiron. Ouch. There’s a load of passive aggressive power with this one. Or, possibly, tremendous healing. What can you do to bring peace into your relationships? Your actions do ripple out you know. Change agent Uranus is involved in this lunation too, indicating that sudden changes may occur.

October 7th strong feelings prevail as the New Moon energy lingers. Mars conjuncts the Sun and Venus leaves steamy Scorpio for freedom loving Sagittarius.  Adventures beckon!

8th and 9th the waxing Scorpio Moon fuels emotional resolve.

10th restlessness possible as the now Sagittarian Moon connects with other planets pulling things together.

October 12th the Capricorn Moon squares Mercury, Mars and the Sun all in Libra. Action feels imminent if only you knew which way to go!

14th – 15th are social days under the Aquarian Moon. Connecting with others expands your world view.

16th and 17th the Moon is tender in dreamy Pisces, especially on the 17th when it conjuncts spiritual Neptune. Forgiveness is the path. Let bygones be bygones, the energy is changing.

ENERGY SHIFT October 18th the Moon enters Aries and Mercury stations direct. Things are coming right again.

On the 19th take care of yourself as the Moon conjuncts Chiron and opposes Mercury. You’re emerging from a cocoon of your own making. Tune into your inner voice. The Moon is growing fat so too is the wisdom within you.

October 20th Aries Full Moon 8:56 am MT. Be mindful of hasty action, but do take the initiative from the intuition you’ve been receiving to do what you really want to do. It is about you, isn’t it? With squares to controlling Pluto and a conjunction with fiery Eris, it’s important to clear the air but not in a way that blames others. Set yourself free.

21st and the Full Moon energy continues to ripple as Mars activates the chart. Stay away from angry people. Release tension with a good workout.

Late on October 22nd the Sun leaves diplomatic Libra for steamy Scorpio, and we can feel it. The seasons are changing and something inside of you is deepening. It’s time to put my garden to rest.

23rd through 25th the breezy Gemini Moon forms harmonious aspects with Saturn and Jupiter. It’s a always a good time to play well with others, especially so now.

26th – 27th the Cancer Moon brings emotions to the surface. We’re still feeling that last Full Moon.

On the 28th when the Moon opposes stern Saturn for a few moments. Once again, your attention is drawn to what is best and what needs to be done.

The month ends on a bold and confident note as the Moon travels through heart-centered fixed Leo. Stubbornness may be our only fault now with the Sun in fixed Scorpio.

The season has changed. It’s a different time. I don’t know about you but I’m going to rip all the weeds out. The time for flowering has past.

Remember you matter, we’re all connected, Earth is our home and love is our destination.

Greetings Earthlings,

Don’t let the blah energy of September’s opening days get you down. There’s a lot of sadness in the world and we’re making our way toward a zeitgeist (paradigm) shift in less than four years when slow moving planets change signs bringing to fruition the results of our past actions. (Pluto to Aquarius, Neptune and Saturn to Aries and Uranus to Gemini.)

Looking at this long view and seeing what’s coming up, let’s make use of this time. Short as the Virgo energy of the first 22 days of this month is, it’s useful. Clean up your act. Sweep the floors. Harvest the fruit. Edit your work. After the 22nd the Sun enters Libra at equinox and attempts to restore balance to your actions. Mercury turns retrograde toward the end of the month, another reason to get things going sooner rather than later.

Until equinox, when day and night are equal, we’re immersed in the energy of the Virgo/Pisces axis. Virgo is the divine physician and Pisces the anesthesia. They work together, kind of like a tapestry.

A tapestry is a picture made with threads of cotton and wool that tells a story. But turn the tapestry over and it’s a mess. The gold stitch goes here and the red runs along there and none of it makes sense. Virgo quivers with anxiety at such chaos. But Pisces turns it over and sees the perfect whole. Keep that in mind as you go through this month.

Labor Day Sept 6th. is a Virgo New Moon in harmony with Uranus in Taurus. Maintain your dignity as necessary changes become clear. Think health and efficiency. The New Moon encourages strategy and flexibility. It’s activated by a conjunction with Mars the very next day. Don’t dilly dally! Get going! But please, be kind. Mars can bring sharpness and we don’t want to hurt each other.

Sept 8, could be a little sensitive when Mercury and the Moon conjunct 12 Libra oppose Chiron 11 Aries.

Sept 10, there’s an energy shift as feminine Venus leaves Libra for intense Scorpio. It’s easy to stew over injustices.

On 9/11 the Moon in Scorpio helps us remember.

Another energy shift Sept 14 in the evening when Mars leaves Virgo for diplomatic and constricting Libra. Try different tactics over the next seven weeks.

Harmony reigns from the 19th to the 22nd. It’s a good time for classes, both teaching and taking, when Mercury in Libra trines Jupiter Aquarius.

Just two days before equinox, on Sept 20, there’s a Full Moon at the last degrees of Pisces; love and forgiveness are the path, no matter how difficult the situation. Nothing else will set you free. There’s something familiar about this time. You’ve learned this lesson before. Stay attuned to inner wisdom.

Sept 22 equinox – equal day and night. Sun crosses celestial equator and enters Libra. Attention focuses on relationships and the maintenance of harmony.

Sept 23 Sudden turn in fortune or love. Technology stocks and bonds look interesting. Earth changes likely as Venus opposes Uranus.

Sept 26 Diplomacy works. Mars trines Saturn.

Sept 27 Wait up a minute! Mercury stations to turn retrograde. Things slow down or get a little confusing.

Sept 28 Mercury retrogrades at 25’24” Libra until October 19 at 10’Libra.

The month ends on a solid note as the Sun trines Saturn. Diplomacy and the awareness that we really truly are One on the body of this planet means that we may be able to make common sense decisions and follow through on them.

Thanks for reading, and remember: you matter, we’re all connected, Earth is our home and love is our destination.

January 2021 Age of Aquarius Catch Up

January 1, 2021

Hello friends,

We made it. 2020 is in the rearview mirror!

My brother-in-law says you should look in  the rearview mirror no more than 10% of the time. Stay behind the wheel of your life by being present. Keep your eyes on the road ahead.

2021 brings deep changes through great resistance. It’s a year of hard work and recovery and a year of great hope. The focus is on the human condition and the structure of society. Jupiter and Saturn are in Aquarius through the year meaning that we are one big team. Pulling together makes a huge difference and leads us toward success. Think of a big beehive, alive with life, focused on making honey to feed the queen and in doing so the bees collect pollen and spread life between plants creating all manner of fruits and foods for us to eat.

Your sensible actions indicate your awareness and compassion for others. Think about socially responsible investing, technology and clean energy as your contributions toward the good of the whole and as a way to make money. It’s all very Aquarian, and Taurus too. More on Taurus later.

Aquarius also governs vibration — just look at its symbol — two waves, one on top of the other. Hum a little something, notice the vibration? Keep your vibration up, friend!

The “astrological signature of our time” –- the Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto conjunction is behind us, although January has its fair share of issues. Please continue to wear your mask and stay safe.

If there’s anything we’ve learned it’s that we’re all in this together.  There’s a lot Aquarius energy this month and the Corona virus will continue to spread. Aquarius is an air sign and Covid 19 is an air borne virus. Jupiter and Saturn together equal big lessons for the collective.

So… keep your mask on and stay home until this passes, which could be as soon as the end of February 2021.

Sparks fly this year, especially this month. Matters of the Earth via the sign of Taurus, demand to be considered. There are basic differences in our big beehive and not all the bees want the same thing.

January is quite the month. It’s full of stubborn Aquarian energy and challenged by the hotheads Mars and Uranus in Taurus. Taurus is equally as stubborn as Aquarius! The fixed energy points to the effort required to get your life in shape; and that means giving yourself permission to make the necessary improvements. Be bold, get grounded, and don’t give up. Mercury retrogrades at the end of this month so tend to your important stuff sooner rather than later.

Please mark the 20th on your calendar as important. This is Inauguration Day in the USA and also a cosmically tricky one. Mars and Uranus in Taurus meet the Moon at the tail end of Aries and the three of them square Jupiter in Aquarius. That’s a cosmic recipe for civil unrest and unpredictable behavior. Impatient recklessness! The Earth speaks.

Until the 19th the Sun travels in pragmatic Capricorn. The sign of the water goat reminds us to enjoy the commitments we’ve made. Consider the structure of your life and do what you can to improve it.

1st – 2nd: Despite the problems and isolation try to enjoy the first few days of 2021. The year starts out on a playful Leo Moon.

3rd– 4th By Sunday the Moon’s ingress to Virgo brings business and health to the forefront and you may start out the week with gusto.

4th – 5th Focus your dreams! Mercury and Pluto meet and the Moon opposes Neptune.

5th – 8th Two steps forward and a couple back as energy waxes and wanes this week. The Moon travels through Libra then Scorpio. You want to please someone and then you don’t.

6th – Mars enters Taurus for the first time in two years giving Bulls a nice vitamin shot. Within a week, Mars meets up with Uranus and stirs up trouble.

8th – Mercury enters Aquarius and puts your mind to work. Gatherings begin to occur. Despite the waning Moon, energy is building. There are four celestial bodies now in Aquarius and over the next few weeks they will be activated by the rebels Mars and Uranus. Get grounded. Start now.

9th – 12th Mercury connects tightly with Jupiter and Saturn. Information is vital! Connection is vital! Mars squares it all. Are things on or are they off? It’s a lot of push, pull. Energy surges are unpredictable. Use your mind yet beware of rigid thinking. Rules are important if we’re all to get along.

12th early morning New Capricorn Moon is serious in tone. Pluto is present. What seeds do you need to keep secret?  Pay attention to your financial matters as Venus trines Uranus. The market surges.

Also, on the 12th Mercury squares its higher octave Uranus inviting you to up your game by thinking outside the box. Innovation is key now.

13th Uranus begins to turn direct bringing change with it.

13th – 22nd Dangerous days of possible chaos and anarchy. Rigid viewpoints clash.

14th – 15th ponder your options and consider the people you associate with. Is it working?

16th – 17th the gentle Pisces Moon is healing balm in the midst of loud unruliness.

17th Jupiter squares Uranus – huge ideas, big changes. Technological advancements. It’s okay to get excited.

18th – 19th the waxing Moon travels through Aries initiating change. It’s a fresh start!

19th the Sun enters Aquarius, the sign of society. This is a fundamental, annual shift that unites us as the human family and also highlights our vast and numerous differences.

20th – Inauguration Day in the USA and also a cosmically tricky one. Mars and Uranus in Taurus meet the Moon at the tail end of Aries and the three of them square Jupiter in Aquarius. It’s a cosmic recipe for civil unrest and unpredictable behavior but also for much needed change.

21st voices continue to ring out.

22nd – 24th A sobering time as leadership makes itself known. Enough already! Settle down people. The Sun connects with sobering Saturn, exact on the 23rd.

23rd – 24th the Moon in Gemini debates both sides. Integration can occur. Consider all your options.

25th – 27th the waxing Cancer Moon helps you process your decisions by feeling them through.

25th the Sun and Uranus square off. A challenge is made. Originality is valued.

27th – the Cancer Moon highlights the Venus/Pluto conjunction.  Follow the money. What’s happening in your financial world?

28th Leo Full Moon highlights the human drama and the ridiculous quibbling of this age. Finances are important – Venus and Pluto are conjunct. Be sensible!

27th – 30th big news associated with leadership and the law. Humanitarian efforts are needed. The Sun conjuncts Jupiter and both are activated by Mars. Jupiter conjunct the Sun makes for favorable outcomes so perhaps there’s something in this that offers the most benefit to the most people despite, or maybe because, of the challenge from Mars. This is an exciting and possibly hopeful time.

31st the month ends as Mercury retrogrades giving us the next three weeks to reflect and regroup. The Virgo Moon helps to put things back in order.

February has its own share of excitement. Celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year with twelve months of the Metal Ox. The metal element is associated with the lungs (does Covid linger?) while the Ox promises work, work and more work to get us back on our feet; our society rebuilt with our newly discovered values in mind. If there’s anything we learned from 2020 is what happens to one, happens to all. We also discovered how much we need each other. You can’t drink money and you can’t breathe brutality. After the tense change of January 2021,  February gives us the lunar New Year and the pervading energy of primordial Pisces which births us into new possibilities.

Meanwhile, let’s you and I continue to scamper along the fields of conversation. Goddess willing I’ll meet you back here in a month.

Remember, you matter, we’re all connected; Earth is our home and love is our destination.

By Dulce Bell-Bulley MA CHT
March 29, 2020

This column is dedicated to Dale McClanahan.

Hello friends,

The June 2012 issue of Time magazine was dedicated to end of the world scenarios in a volume titled How To Die. It was 2012 after all and we were on the brink of existential oblivion thanks to the ending of the Mayan calendar. Of the top ten ways to go, pandemic was one of them. So here we are, in a pandemic.

So, what’s going on up there? With the planets?

The Wanderers have a vision much broader than ours, but remember, WE, all of us TOGETHER are creating this reality. Breathe deeply, as much as you can. Fill up your toes and your back body. Love as much as you can — build the strength and field of your heart chakra. We’re confronting what we created earlier, letting it go onto the compost heap, out of which we are tending the tiny shoots of our brilliant future. The power is the present. As you read this article and go through this time, remember we are interconnected. We are the one body. Align yourself to something higher, truer, and Divine, whatever that is for you. At times of endings we fear great loss but our open hearts, aligned spirits and our collective awareness will see us safely through.

The current major cosmic dance is a conjunction of slow-moving Pluto, he of the Underworld (an orbit around the Sun of 250 years), and Saturn, Father time and the planet in charge of reality as we know it (30-year orbit). Pluto’s modus operandi is to destroy, and Saturn’s is to maintain. This combo stresses existing structures and looking back in history we can see what that looks and feels like.

Alas, this cycle has taken us to dark places before – let’s start with WW1. Soldiers were confined to the trenches, when Saturn and Pluto met in Cancer (they’re in the opposite sign of Capricorn now). Think of our confinement now and their confinement in the trenches. How terrible that was for them.

Pluto and Saturn connected again, in September 1939, the beginning of WW2 when Hitler invaded Poland, and France and England declared war on Germany. The two planets squared each other then. And on 9/11/2001 they opposed each other across a major axis of the USA chart.

You get the picture. And here we are again. Perhaps we can say that the symbol for this time might be the Notre Dame fire April 15, 2019 when Saturn and Pluto conjunct at south node. It was the first “episode”.

If you’re feeling anxious, be kind to yourself. You are not alone. Saturn and Pluto together are associated with heaviness and loss. A tension. There’s an all-pervasive feeling of sadness. A lack of joy. What Carl Jung would call “the reality principle” and Nietzsche “the spirit of gravity.” An intense inner journey is at work. This is terrifying because it involves entering our shadow realm. Pluto is the guardian of the underworld after all. Think about the subterranean underbelly of the world – corruption, deceit, filth, yet also hidden gold, seeds of the future, and an enormous appetite for power and control, for rebirth. Pluto takes us on our death and birth journey. This journey into the depths takes us to our inner wealth, that which cannot be corrupted nor destroyed. With Saturn also present, we’re responsible for that journey. No one can save us but us.

Added to the recipe of stress is abundant Jupiter (12- year orbit) and Mars (2-year orbit) joining Saturn and Pluto at the south node. These add oomph, and up the ante. If this rare alignment wasn’t enough, we have three significant eclipses to deal with this year and something ominously called the Great Mutation.  A bit more about that in a moment. Here are a few key words about the challenges Pluto offers:

Deconstruction and destruction

Fear of the hidden

The hidden coming up

Transpersonal/global forces

Sorrow – the world dying, species disappearing.

Loss

Birth and death.

Life force

Power and control – (in Capricorn the power and control over the collective via government)

Surrender

Dictatorship – martial law. Taking charge. Putin having absolute rule for example.

Flaws in structure/ government/leadership are revealed. Think Brexit.

Secrets. Power behind the scenes.

(Keep breathing, nice and deep!)

Pluto also governs shadow, things we don’t know about, that we’ve buried in the subterranean depths of our psyche. PROJECTION – where we throw our nonsense onto someone else because we don’t want to look at it; where we blame someone else for what we’re doing covertly but won’t face up to. Pluto is also excrement (yep, shit). Fear of what’s coming out of us. “The great scythe swinging through the world cutting down” excess.

And there’s Capricorn to consider — the sign Pluto and Saturn are traveling together in. Capricorn is associated with restrictions, government, rules and regs, protocol, authority, business, parents, tradition, commitment, duty. And cycles of development over time.

Finally, let’s take a peek at some of the key concepts for Saturn. It’s basically the same as Capricorn because Saturn rules Capricorn. These are: Scaffolding. Structure. Things to hold onto or the form and shape of society. Time. Limitation – lovers unable to get to each other; families separated. Obligations. Confinement – Think of people holed up together during this time; with both the negatives and the silver lining it provides should we choose to take it.

Let’s talk conspiracy for a moment. Pluto’s presence suggests the possibility that some power, somewhere, let loose this beast in an effort to control the world in order to mine it for their own wealth and ego. That this power wants to have absolute control over the populace, via martial law and the virus is getting that in place. Let me debunk this conspiracy – Jupiter is present in this whole thing. Jupiter is a planet representing ethics and advanced learning. In Capricorn, as it is during this entire year until winter solstice when it enters Aquarius, Jupiter in Capricorn is overly cautious. Prudent and careful to the point of extreme fussiness. This has proved to be very helpful and led to quarantine and stay at home orders. So, if there were some kind of Plutonian/Uranian conspiracy, Jupiter brought it back to Earth and is keeping us as safe as possible given the circumstances.

This global experience is teaching the lesson of Earth, where everything is right now. We understand RESOURCES in a different way. It’s the birth of pragmatism and renewal. Saving things, recycling. Making things last. Stop throwing things away. Stop buying cheap plastic throwaway s**t because we realize that nothing is actually cheap. There’s a cost to everything either measured in the quality of human experience and/or to the natural world, the environment. And the cost is breaking our hearts.

We become aware of true RESOURCES – Spiritual awareness. An inner radical responsibility for the health and magnificence of our own souls.

Another thing we understand is that our care and love for one another is what we’re confined to and what we miss right now. Ask yourself, what is meaningful to you? Here’s what is meaningful to me: My physical and spiritual health; my family, friends, clients and animals; silence; my work and creative life; my garden, good food, my neighborhood, the library, community radio stations, wilderness, rivers, camping, music (lots of it) and really good beer and wine.

We are face-to-face with what we love and yearn for. We’re confined (Saturn) my friends (Aquarius), cut off from certain things and those we cherish. Use Pluto positively by opening up the closed places – the heart, the soul, and the mind. The earth is healing right now! The earth starts to heal when we stop hurting it. Look at the pics of Whutan and the canals of Venice. Sky and water are clear. Birds and animals returning.

What an opportunity to let what needs to die, die and to let go. Birth what is healthy. What is that for you?

Regarding a primary love we all share – the health and wonder of wilderness. There’s been deregulation (Plutonian method) of all things that protect our environment also known as the ESSENTIALS – fresh water, air and healthy soil. I’m grateful for all those who bring food, oil and gas to me but not at the cost of wilderness and the loss of species, nor at the cost of our health because we’re already been there and done that. Enough already!

Okay, how about Trump and the USA chart? Trump and the USA have six planets that fit hand over glove. They are related to karma and basic needs, fears about safety, money and resources. Mars, the God of war and action, is particularly featured in both his chart and the USA chart. There’s a lot more here to discuss but I’ll save it for another time. The time we’re in transcends the individuals involved though they are players in the drama. (Remember, you are the creator, not the story).

When will there be reprieve?

Soon. Let’s get through the Mars/Uranus square on April 7th, that’s kind of impulsive and could be dangerous. April 26th is a tentative green for go. Pluto turns retrograde April 26th around the same time the Sun connects with change agent Uranus. This is a huge sigh of relief. It’s a time of recovery. But it’s slow. Continue to be patient and practice safe socializing. There’s a dramatic shift for better with a little madness, or innovation, thrown in, thanks to Uranus.

The month of May looks like our best bet to go back to what we were doing before Covid 19 showed up.

Three planets turn retrograde in May and things settle down. Saturn retrograde May 12, Venus retrograde May 14, Jupiter retrograde May 15.

We’re going to go back to what we were doing. It’ll be like old home week and then …

A tricky period in June, a critical eclipse July 5th and then Saturn and Pluto within days of one another will turn direct in October. They’ll be conjunct with Jupiter so the virus, or something related to it will return at that time. The rest of the year reveals continued caution. The eclipses ahead reveal market changes and periodic outbreaks of the virus.

In a nutshell – Go slow. May is good, summer a bit tricky, October trouble returns. End of year an epoch shift.

Let me expand on this timeline a little more:

I urge caution from the Full Moon lunar eclipse June 5th through to June 19th – especially the 19th. Mars in Pisces conjuncts Neptune and the moon shows up. This is a cosmic recipe for poor immune systems. On the positive side it may also indicate the discovery of a vaccine.

The Full Moon lunar eclipse at 15° Sadge on June 5th has Venus both conjunct the Sun and retrograde. This speaks to financial matters and a possible resurge of old values.

The solstices feature prominently this year. On June 21st, for a new moon eclipse at 0° Cancer solstice point and again at winter solstice (in the northern hemisphere Dec 21, 2020) when the “Great Mutation” occurs. That’s the meeting of Saturn and Jupiter at 0° Aquarius, square Uranus. Both Saturn and Uranus rule Aquarius and they don’t get along. Uranus was Saturn’s dad and he ate him! This is a big game changer folks.

The full moon lunar eclipse July 5th at 13° Capricorn is an important eclipse and it has a lot to do with what we’re experiencing now. This eclipse features a tight Jupiter, Pluto conjunction and Saturn is nearby. This is what we’re experiencing as I write this in March 2020. These points activate planets in the USA chart, it’s personal for us. This could be the reignition of the virus or something closely associated with it. Thank God the planets are all retrograde! This diminishes their influence indicating that our old fears may surface but perhaps with no substance. There may be something we don’t know about covertly occurring behind the scenes.

Caution!  August 13th and October 9th when Pluto and Mars square off.

Another full moon lunar eclipse on November 30th at 8° Gemini contains the same conjunctions (energy) as the last eclipse. This one holds the potentials for market shifts. And finally, December 14th at 23° Sagittarius. The same lineup – in other words we’re dealing with whatever comes up. The virus may well be back, or again, issues associated with it. Let’s not rule out possible government intervention.

Caution! – December 23rd when Mars and Pluto square off.

And then … the Great Mutation. Freaky term but it refers to a once in around 800-year cycle. It’s been +- 800 years since Jupiter and Saturn last met in Air signs. They meet once every 20 years anyway, and spend 10 cycles in one element, then move to another element. In this case from Earth to Air. This is a zeitgeist shift. It’s a very old cycle!

So, my bottom line, this will pass. The Saturn/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn followed by the Great Mutation heralds a shift of enormous magnitude. I stand by what I wrote in October 2016: invest locally, plant a garden, take up a hobby, and be patient. Life goes on this year. There are better times than others. I’ve listed here the ones to be aware of. Stay healthy. Keep your expenses down. Develop close bonds of love and care with others. Support the things that mean something to you.

What’s the antidote:

Apart from medicine and healers the world over? LOVE.  Love is the antidote. Always has been, always will be. Love is the thing that unfreezes the hatred of projection and keeps your spirit well. Corvid 19 affects the lungs. Chinese medicine tells us grief lives in the lungs. We’ve been grieving a long time my friends. Maybe we still have the trenches of WW1 in our collective memory and its bubbling up now for healing. This time of confinement is for our benefit. We get to feel and when we feel, we heal.

I think you’ve got the picture of what’s going on right now with the planets. If you’ve got it in you, let’s turn our attention back to the Great Mutation. A happening event this winter solstice – December 21, 2020.

This is the 20-year Jupiter/Saturn conjunction with a twist. This time they meet it’s called the Great Mutation. It’s given this gloomy name because Jupiter and Saturn will finally meet in air signs after 200 years of meeting up in earth signs (though they met in 1980/1981 in Libra, an air sign, it was considered a ‘preview’ – a natural part of the cycle). During their 200-year meeting in earth signs the focus was on materialism. It’s been +- 800 years since Jupiter and Saturn met in Air signs for their 200-year sojourn there.

2020 December 21st (solstice) begins a whole new 20-year cycle when Jupiter and Saturn meet in Aquarius, the sign of society, of people, rebels and rule makers. The last conjunction was in 2000 and involved Uranus. This cycle involves Uranus as well – Uranus is the great destabilizer. Nothing is certain when this planet shows up. Uranus in Taurus will square the conjunction in Aquarius which it rules.

This suggests mass protests against governments and rules. It’s a” don’t fence me in” attitude, a time of social unrest. A kind of FU to authority who may be trying to control the populace, maybe for good reasons. Perhaps this is helpful given that we’re in a phase where there’s a global tendency toward dictatorship. Mere mortals want to become Kings and take away freedoms.

I’m heartened by this next cycle even though it is socially disruptive (though hopefully we’re not looking at mob mentality) because folks believe in personal rights. I endorse the rights of waterways, air, wilderness and animals as well as human rights. This can be a progressive time. Teamwork triumphs. Re-discover your people. Love and take care of them in that special way you have, that only you can do. By the way, the KGB was dismantled last time Saturn was in Aquarius.

Also, the move from Earth (materialism, possessions, ostentatious wealth, agriculture – both local organic and corporate farms) to Air will totally shift our values away from all that and move it toward the arts, literature, ideas, technology and all matters associated with the intellect and internet. It’s likely there will be struggles over controlling the internet and social and intellectual freedoms. If those things are important to you, you’ll naturally keep an eye on them ensuring our collective body will continue to create the ever-evolving world wide web. Since Saturn is in Aquarius now, for a brief while, we’re already feeling the importance of connection via the internet thanks to Zoom, Skype, etc.

Interestingly enough, when Jupiter and Saturn conjunct in Aquarius in 1345 the plague, also known as the Black Death, came into being. Not a happy thought and yet we have come so far and hopefully, learned so much. Can we rely on each other? This time of group consciousness is also a time of personal accountability, isn’t it?  We are aware of ourselves, individually, as One body. We’re aware we are the collective. This is how nature works. It’s how birds fly in a flock, fish in a school, and grasses in the meadow. How beautiful is that?

I’ll be writing about the Aquarius energy headed our way and will share that with you. I also hope to get you an April cosmic play by play. We’ll see, check back often. I want to thank my astrology colleagues the world over who’re examining the same skies and whose research has helped me. Please see a list of resources at the end of this article.  Thanks also to my friend Karen, who mid-wifed this column. Together we pulled out the weeds and planted flowers in their stead.

In the meantime, take care out there. And remember, you matter, we are all connected. Earth is our home and love is our destination.

Dulce

Greetings Earthlings,

Here we are once again poised at the brink of a new year and the Chinese year of the Rat. Like other times in human history, this year holds potential for struggle and rebirth. In 2020, the stern energy of Saturn faces down the destructive power of transformative Pluto. Remember 9/11 and the Twin Towers? That’s when Saturn and Pluto opposed one another. This month they conjunct. Mark January 6th through the 12th on your calendars. Though we may live in separate countries we are one World and the Saturn/Pluto conjunction resonates throughout the Globe. It’s particularly germane to the USA as we’re experiencing a Pluto return. Our Founding Fathers argued, a lot. http://www.inquiriesjournal.com/articles/24/friendship-and-conflict-the-relationship-of-the-us-founding-fathers They framed the Constitution out of their fierce desire for personal and national freedom from Britain. You can see the struggle in the chart of the USA – Mercury (governing ideas and discourse) opposes Pluto (power and control). Our Pluto return will bring up the same struggle that is inherent in our country’s philosophical roots. The impeachment trial of Donald Trump brings these 244-year old arguments, and all the others that have followed it, to the foreground. Ordinary citizens are given the opportunity to fall in love with their Nation, the wisdom of its structure, and many will try to change it.

On a personal level, 2020 is your opportunity for rebirth also. Great and benevolent Jupiter guides us through this year with practical advice and know-how. You may want to give everything up to run and save the dolphins, but Jupiter suggests that first you cut back on your use of plastic.

2020 opens and closes with Cancer Moons reminding this Cancer country that the quality of our home is not negotiable. And that all beings who live upon, in, under and above this beautiful land have the right to exist in peace in the habitats and migration routes they have used for centuries. Begin the year by honoring your home and by being grateful for the shelter it provides you. Cancer also evokes the feminine and reminds us that love and kindness are high vibration energies.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I may update this month’s blog as I’m posting this just before the end of 2019. I wanted to squeeze it in. So please check back and refresh your screen every now and then.

New Post 01/07/2020: The USA drone attack on Iran officials seems to be the international event I saw in the astrology. My concern remains, especially for the Cancer Full Moon eclipse (01/10) which takes within 4 degrees of the USA Mercury. However, I think the greatest danger for the USA, or even for Iran (and the globe) is when transiting Mars opposes the USA Uranus between January 14 – 16th. Pray for peace, everyone. Prayer works.

COSMIC PLAY-BY-PLAY

January 1st – lots of planets in Capricorn as the month opens. It’s a great opportunity to set your highest ideals while staying grounded. Question for the day and the New Year: how do I want to go forward?

Jupiter is in Capricorn for the first time in 12 years and is grouped with the Sun and south node at the opening of this year. Our country is experiencing a Jupiter opposition. Since Jupiter governs the field of law and Capricorn government, we know we’re entering a year of political struggle and debate.

2nd – 4th: The fiery Aries Moon takes us through these two days with courage and flair. It is a new year! We can do things differently. Mercury connects with Jupiter and big talk is possible. These are good days to restructure your plans.

3rd: active Mars leaves sultry Scorpio for sunny Sagittarius. This is an athletic and optimistic energy and brings vitality to all fire and air signs. Mars will be in Sadge until mid-February.

4th: a good day for stable change, yes there is such a thing, as the Taurus Moon connects with Uranus and both trine all that Capricorn.

5th – 6th: good earth energy for work and creative projects. Stay focused for maximum results.

6th – 10th: Saturn and Pluto meet at 22° Capricorn. Notice where you are struggling to emerge from old rules and karma. What is the nature of your re-birth?

10th:  full Moon Cancer lunar eclipse around 12:22 PM MST. Full Moons, especially eclipses of those Moons and watery Moons such as this, bring a lot of emotion. Keep yourself calm and carry on. Uranus turns direct today also allowing those inner changes to find expression in the outer world.

11th – 12th: drama abounds as the Moon slips into Leo while Mercury, the Sun, Ceres, Saturn and Pluto all meet tightly in Capricorn. It almost looks like the death of an international leader or a gathering of leaders. These are the days to walk your talk and to center in your truth. And it helps a lot to pray. Gratitude lifts your vibration too.

12th: The pressure is on folks! It’s time to make those changes or, conversely, to root in even deeper than before. Today is a glorious alignment at 22° Capricorn – Sun, Ceres, Pluto, Saturn and little Mercury at 23°. I’m glad Ceres is there. This energy provides for the future and is the guardian of all that has been lost. Let’s hope there are no global disasters at this time. Certainly, there’ll be political shenanigans here in the good ole USA and perhaps a powerful new Renaissance.

13th: the fall-out continues. This isn’t going anywhere in a hurry. Venus picks this moment to enter gentle Pisces. Venus in Pisces has no boundaries and you may have difficulty saying no. Forgiveness works great. You don’t need to be a martyr unless the calling is very high.

13th – 15th the Virgo Moon helps you bring order into your life and health routine.

16th: Mercury moves into Aquarius picking up the pace of the conversation. Everyone has an opinion now and rightfully so. This is your chance to share your ideas too. Mercury will be in Aquarius until early February.

17th – 19th: the watery Scorpio Moon helps you access your deepest feelings. Remember, gold is buried.

20th: we leave some of the prudence of Capricorn behind as the Sun enters social Aquarius today. Power to the people! Keep your wits about you and don’t let the bastards get you down (as the Romans used to say). Also, today the Moon and Mars connect bringing vital energy to your endeavors.

21st – 22nd: days for optimism and action. Civil action and social connection flow well.

23rd: The Sun squares Uranus creating a bit of turmoil. Get out and do something different. This is restless break-free energy. The Moon is traveling through the last degrees of Capricorn attuning you to the planet’s vibration. Do get grounded but don’t get heavy. Put your prayers for light and love into the world and remember to create something good with your thoughts.

24th: a delightful Aquarian New Moon at sunset (MST). Here’s your chance to make new friends and embrace new concepts. There is much more to life than we have previously imagined.

25th: Happy Chinese New Year! It’s the Year of the Rat, a shrewd business outlook and adaptability are hallmarks of this sneaky little creature because it survives, no matter what! This is another social day.

26th – 28th: Venus and Neptune connect in intuitive Pisces. You get inside info and direction now. Write down your dreams. Practice forgiveness. Intuition keeps flowing as the Moon travels through Pisces meeting Venus and Neptune. Tenderness is likely as is low energy when Mars squares Neptune. Rest.

29th: heal up today and keep listening to your vibes.

30th – 31st: The month ends as the Aries Moon squares planets in Capricorn. A little resistance goes a long way to strengthening your muscles. Don’t you ever give up.

Remember, you matter, we are all connected, earth is our home and love is our destination.
