Greetings Earthlings,
Here we are in Leo country! What was the last Cancer journey like for you? How was the swim in the depths of your own being? It was revealing to me and I actually got to splash in the sea! It was delicious and cold.
Now we’re experiencing fire energy. During this Leo time we don the robe of our hero and go on our unique mythical quest. You might fight dragons and fall in love. You’ll have to practice confidence and grace; dance and laugh a lot. You might start to look a little bit like a lion and may hear yourself roaring. Don’t forget that Leo can be a quiet kitty too. Resting and purring are excellent pursuits this month. The Sun will leave Leo and enter Virgo on August 22, changing things up once again to bring in simplicity, order and industry.
Go ahead and tap into your Leo — your particular type of courage and cheer this month. And then find your Virgo — the part that loves nature and whose place is found in healing and work.
August starts with Mars moving into conjunction with Uranus, the cosmos’s agent of change. This is kind of crazy and weird. I really urge you to practice caution. You can get a lot done and there may be exciting shifts in what is otherwise a static environment. Nonetheless, I would like you to please act sensibly and not take on any bold adventures from July 31 to the end of August 1.
Major breakthroughs are likely under these changing skies. Pay close attention to what is emerging from within. I’m becoming aware of my misperceptions and the guiding role illusion has had in my life. I was beset with fevers as a child. Tick fever, malaria, chickenpox, mumps, German measles. I got it all and I spent a lot of time in the hospital. I saw flowers come out of flower pots and dance on mantels. I saw faces pressed into the fabric of curtains against windows. I was deeply influenced and shaped by my childhood in Africa and the fevers that beset me. Now, under these rapidly changing cosmic conditions you and I need to be more flexible and truthful with ourselves. Fantasy is helpful but doesn’t always work. It takes courage to accept life as it is. Courage comes from the heart — it’s a Leo thing.
Leo is your will power and the Leo Sun and Venus connect with Jupiter in Aries this month. It feels like there’s nothing you can’t do. Meanwhile, the United States continues to traverse its Pluto return. Personally and collectively we continue to vibrate with the consequences of our actions.
Take heart my friends; be strong. Align yourself with the brightest of lights. This is your Leo time and on the 22nd it will shift to your Virgo time. In your Virgo time you will put flowers in your hair, tend to your gardens, organize your life, and love others with a kind hand. There is great joy in service.
Keep your wits about you on August 1 when Mars and Uranus conjunct.
August 4 Mercury enters Virgo. This is your cue to feel into your inner alignment.
Stay close to your intuition, especially on August 5 when the Scorpio moon opposes both Mars and Uranus. See your inner warrior and your outer one.
The 6th through the 8th, the fiery moon travels through Sagittarius harmonizing with Jupiter, Chiron and the Sun. Perhaps you may allow yourself to go as far as your personal freedom needs for healing. The 10th it meets with Pluto and you get a glimpse of your inner depths.
August 11 Venus enters Leo and brings out your inner Princess, or brings you a Princess! It’s time to have some fun says the Universe. Fun, not drama.
The Full Moon August 11 sees the Aquarian Moon conjunct Saturn at 19° opposite the Leo Sun in a square with Uranus at 18° Taurus. This full moon looks like instant karma to me. Oh yeah, Mars is there too. It’s going to be important that we learn how to consciously co-create with one another. I trust that we will enter into this time aware of the stories we are making about our society and that we do no harm. This Full Moon can be a time of gratitude, silence and celebration or it could be really uncomfortable. Aquarius is an air sign so be mindful of airborne illnesses like the dreaded Covid. Wear that mask. Further, become aware of the seeds you’re planting and have planted. You may have a beautiful bouquet in your hand or a pile of sludge.
August 13: get your game on. Inspire yourself to recover. Let your dreams inform your sophisticated thinking. The Moon whispers to Neptune or perhaps it’s the other way around? Mars trines Pluto for sensible and transformational action.
Healing lessons continue over the next few days. Keep allowing yourself (and others) a new beginning.
16th through 18th: the Taurus Moon both roots and activates. See how that feels. Mars prepares to leave the energy of earth and enter the element of air as Gemini. Here begins an interesting period of time. As always, pay attention. My beloved husband used to say the greatest expense in life is failure to pay attention. Boy, do I know that to be true.
On the 20th, Mars enters Gemini along with the Gemini Moon. Mars will retrograde in Gemini from the end of October to early January so you may well be redoing some of things you do until then.
The next few days are good for networking and connecting. On the 22nd the Sun enters Virgo. It’s time once again to care for all the little things in your life.
The 22nd to early on the 24th, the nurturing Cancer Moon helps you physically assimilate the energy shift.
The 24th to the 26th: the waning Leo Moon connects with Venus and opposes Saturn reminding you to bravely and creatively finish what you started.
On August 25 little Mercury enters sophisticated Libra and makes positive relations with Mars. Decision making requires a balancing act.
August 27th, my sister’s birthday, is a tender and active Virgo New Moon. Mars squares this lunation suggesting we may want to take steps towards improving our situation. While it’s not possible to think of everything, this New Moon invites healing clarity. Make a list of what’s important to you and let the rest go.
The end of August continues the theme: tending to the garden of your heart and the affairs of your life. Big things are happening, many of which are out of your control. The waxing Libra Moon opposes Jupiter and Chiron and connects with Mercury reminding us that our power lies in the present moment. May it be so for you too my friend.
Remember, you matter, we are all connected; earth is our home and love is our destination.
