Dear friends,
Consider this image:
A crossroads lies in front of you.
The sky is stormy and dark.
You look in each direction. Which way to go?
A woman stands there. It’s Hecate, the Goddess of the Crossroads. You ask her the way.
She points a lean finger toward your heart, toward what you already felt – the inner voice is the right one.
The woman’s pointing finger reminds you that it takes time and silence to feel the vibrations of your spirit. You are being charged to tune into your inner compass. You need a compass because the terrain is changing.
We’re at the turning of an age, a zeitgeist shift. After this year, nothing will be the same again.
A big slow door opens. It opens into the air of a large room — the great hall of humanity and ideas. No voice is excluded. Technology is there. Rebellion, art, thought, science.
It’s the Age of Aquarius re-visited, this move of Jupiter and Saturn into Aquarius. This opening of the Air season of the 800-year Great Mutation, so named by astrologer Raymond Merriman, and by the research and observations of those who came before him.
This energy is not going to rush at us. It has 200 years to make itself felt. It’s the beginning. (At 0*!) The energy moves into air on winter solstice when Jupiter and Saturn meet in Aquarius on this special and magical date. These two planets meet up every 20 years anyway, and this time is very different. We’re at the door of a new age, a new time.
It’s been 800 years since this has happened.
This is the 20-year Jupiter/Saturn conjunction with a twist. This time they meet it’s called the Great Mutation. It’s given this gloomy name because Jupiter and Saturn will finally meet in air signs after 200 years of meeting up in earth signs (though they met in 1980/1981 in Libra, an air sign, it was considered a ‘preview’ – a natural part of the cycle). During their 200-year meeting in earth signs the focus was on materialism. It’s been 800 years since Jupiter and Saturn met in Air signs for their 200-year sojourn there.
Jupiter and Saturn together is cosmic code for big lessons. The Great Teacher. The wisdom path.
2020 December 21st (solstice) begins a whole new 20-year cycle when Jupiter and Saturn meet in Aquarius, the sign of society, of people, rebels and rule makers. Merriman feels the Great Mutation into air energy brings socialism. The last conjunction was in 2000 and involved Uranus. This cycle involves Uranus as well – Uranus is the great destabilizer. Nothing is certain when this planet shows up. Uranus in Taurus will square the conjunction in Aquarius which it rules.
This suggests mass protests against governments and rules. It’s a “don’t fence me in” attitude, a time of social unrest. A kind of FU to authority who may be trying to control the populace, maybe for good reasons. Perhaps this is helpful given that we’re in the last gasp of dictatorship. Mere mortals want to become Kings and take away freedoms. But no more – with Aquarius’s egalitarian nature predominating it will directly oppose the royalty of Leo and be enthused by Leo’s fire and creativity. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it? By the way, the KGB was dismantled last time Saturn was in Aquarius.
I’m heartened by this next cycle (though hopefully we’re not looking at mob mentality) because folks believe in individual rights. Personally, I endorse the rights of waterways, air, wilderness and animals too. This could be a highly progressive time. Teamwork triumphs. Re-discover your people. Love and take care of them in that special way you have, that only you can do.
The move from Earth (materialism, possessions, ostentatious wealth, agriculture – both local organic and corporate farms) to Air will totally shift our values away from all that and move it toward the arts, literature, ideas, technology and all matters associated with the intellect and internet. Let’s hope we take the wisdom we learned in the last 200 years of the Earth age with us, to inform us, so our lifestyle allows our Earth home to heal and for all her species to thrive. This is our chance to rebalance and co-exist with Nature.
All matters associated with internet, social and intellectual freedoms predominate. Our collective body will continue to create the ever-evolving world wide web. Saturn in Aquarius reveals the importance of connection via the internet thanks to Zoom, Skype, etc. What rules do we need to revamp/or create when connecting with others electronically? Thank you my dear Aquarian friend Lydia for this particular addition.
Think about what’s happening right now. It’s in front of us right now. We’re staying away from breathing the same air as others. We’re about to be vaccinated. It’s about the masses, the human family. And here, in America, Biden takes the Presidency.
Protests, rebellions, ideas, QAnon, groups – radical and otherwise. Homelessness, equality. Tribe, team. Internet; social media; this is how Aquarius shows up. So do aliens. Science fiction comes to life. Fueled by the underlying opposition with Leo creativity surges into being.
We’re entering a new age folks, just keep that in mind as you go through this month and into 2021.
Here’s some advice: do everything with good intention.
The month opens on the last of an age with the vibrant energy of Sagittarius. This open, optimistic sign endows its people with goodwill and positive vibes. It sets us up for the Holy Days to come and for Winter Solstice on the 21st which ushers in the light, the sign of Capricorn and the Great Mutation. Sagittarius is a blessing. It lifts your vision beyond your comfort zone. It encourages the contemplation of the workings of the Universe and your place within it. Take this annual opportunity to think big. Look at your long-range ideas and nourish them with positive thinking. This is perfect cosmic support as we come to the threshold between ages.
December 1st: the month opens resonating on the 8° Gemini Full Moon eclipse which occurred yesterday. Take care of your nervous system with meditation and breath work.
Mercury moves into Sagittarius today drawing your vision up to the big picture and possibly creating too many opportunities. Slow down.
2nd – 4th the Moon in Cancer brings your attention to your home and diet.
5th – 6th: there’s a lot of fire energy burning all at once. Bold action and a Leo Moon may take you a little too far into enthusiasm. Venus and Neptune form their last trine of 2020 making for two magical days. The Moon slips into Virgo midway through the 6th and helps you restore some order to the fantasy.
7th – 8th: irritation and vague anxieties as the Moon forms difficult angles with the prevailing Sadge and Aries energy. Calm your system with pure foods. Organize your sock drawer.
9th: the Sun and Neptune square. Guard your immune system! Depression is possible. Don’t be so hard on yourself. This too shall pass.
10th: new vitality! The Sun and Mars trine giving you the cosmic vitamin shot you need.
10th and 11th: Mars and the Sun resonate with the nodal axis. Confirmation of your direction is available. Pay attention to what’s happening in the here and now.
12th: emotions are stirred up with the Moon’s sojourn through Scorpio. The Moon and Venus meet. It’s okay to keep your sacred things private.
13th: could be confusing as Mercury and Neptune square. We’re in the dark of the Moon, headed for an eclipse. Get things finished up.
14th: New Moon eclipse in Sagittarius. This takes place opposite Donald Trump’s Sun. He was born at an eclipse (June 14, 1946) and this eclipse is transformational for him (beyond leaving the Presidency). With tight alignments to feisty Eris, this New Moon may be some kind of call-to-arms. Be sure you understand the choices before you, they are mental constructs built upon a world of illusion and duality.
For the rest of us mere mortals, this new moon eclipse in the most optimistic of signs encourages a deep orientation (Venus in the last degree of Scorpio in harmony with Pluto) toward what sustains you. Find your Happiness tap root and plug in. The new moon’s trine with Eris, Mars’s sister, means that you may need her bitch/work-out coach vibe every now and then. Reject the jealousy that comes with her.
Mercury and Mars trine today too. Clear thinking and bold action come from this. The energy is getting ready to change. Stay alert.
15th: Venus enters free-wheeling Sadge while the Moon enters Capricorn. Financial portfolios look more positive but act pragmatically.
16th: Plugged back into the seriousness of the times as the Moon travels past Pluto, Jupiter, Saturn, in Capricorn (the signature of our times) and then Pallas Athena acting as harbinger already entered into Aquarius.
Late on the 16th Saturn re-enters Aquarius until mid-summer 2021 when it will dip back into Cappy, giving you an opportunity to visit the old world before the new takes over.
17th – 18th Venus and Chiron trine in fire. It’s a good time for the female energy to heal, both herself and the men in her life, including her inner male. Encourage the Divine Masculine in everyone.
19th: BIG DAY! Jupiter enters Aquarius for the first time in 12 years. Oh how bright the sky when the Sun sets and reveals these two co-joined in the southwest (MT)! This is the celebratory sign the astrologers of old saw when they traveled right under it to find the Christ child.
On this very day, December 19, 2020, Mercury conjuncts the Sun at the Galactic Center. Intelligence streams in from beyond our galaxy. Will aliens arrive? Is this another fantasy?
Use the 19th to tune into wisdom. Assimilate the many lessons you’ve experienced and make the leap to the next realm of consciousness available to you.
20th: the Pisces Moon slips towards Neptune seducing the senses. Deepen your practice.
21st: an even BIGGER day!
Solstice time every year as the Sun enters the water-goat Capricorn. Moody, sensual, brilliant, this capable energy takes us toward the returning light and the new seed of intention for the year ahead. Little Mercury is there to take notes having just entered Capricorn a few hours before.
Jupiter and Saturn conjunct in Aquarius. The door opens onto the new age. The new teaching arrives.
Mars conjuncts his sister Eris. Men and women meet as equal warriors. Inner violence is genderless.
The Moon is raw and new in Aries conjunct Chiron. A birth is occurring. There may be a great deal of pain. Practice care and tending. Can you resolve ancient pain, with a new-found forgiveness?
Dear Ones, it’s days like these, times like this, that draw us closer to the great web of Being. Allow the blessing.
21st – 23rd Jupiter and Saturn remain conjunct. Even when they begin to separate, they still appear as one for days. The Moon continues in Aries – the birth of something new is still occurring along with the accompanying energy it needs on the 23rd when it conjuncts Mars and Eris.
24th Christmas Eve and Jupiter slips ever so slightly ahead of Saturn. The Moon in Taurus conjuncts Uranus. Be open to new surprises. Take care of your things.
Christmas Day: is tender. Healing is possible as the Sun and Chiron square. Tradition reigns but things are different as the Sun and Mercury connect with Uranus. The Earth is making its presence known. How can you connect more fully, tend more sweetly, to your earth home?
26th Boxing Day. Let the energy linger.
27th – 28th the waxing Gemini Moon speeds things up. It opposes Venus in sunny Sadge and makes adventure a priority. Get outside! Move that beautiful body of yours.
29th Cancer Full Moon with Black Moon Lilith conjunct Uranus. Women power! Astrologer Pam Caimpi wrote before she died that a “Leo leader might just turn out to be a lioness.” Chew on that awhile.
Let your birthing continue along with the collective birth. Consider what you’re bringing to life, and how.
29th – 30th: Venus conjuncts the nodal axis at the south node. Let your love find value – the path is right in front of you. Love may leave and love may come back from the past. Consider the value of freedom and the value of home. We’re still resonating with the Full Moon.
31st: the Leo Moon opposes Jupiter and Saturn. Oh la la! What personal affront is this? Or perhaps, what display this new leader evokes in the human family! The new age has begun. The birth is here.
Well dear Ones, I have no idea what to say now. Writing this blog was a labor! But it was done in love. I’m grateful for astrologer and scribe Lydia Herron who helped bring this blog to life with her additions and edits. I’m grateful for you all and pray that common sense and creativity prevail.
Remember, you matter, we are all connected. Earth is our home and love is our destination.
Your astrologer,
Dulce
