Dear Ones,
You’ve learned a lot in the last few months. New people have entered your life and you’ve experienced things you’ve never felt before. Some folks have experienced the endings of things and the uncertainty that comes with starting a new life. This time is about expanding your idea of life, and in some cases, to bring greater order to it. The question to ask as we enter October, its two resonating eclipses, and the nodal shift, is “what is my life about?” The 19-year nodal cycle, which changed in July of this year, is in effect this month and through to early 2025, brings your attention to the meaning and purpose of your life and the relationships you have with others. Cooperation and autonomy are central themes. Watch them play out as the month rolls along.
Happy birthday, Libra! Your sense of balance and decorum are much needed. As the Sun travels through this leadership sign until October 23rd, let yourself explore all aspects of relationship, and boost them where possible. No person is an island!
The month opens resonating on the heels of a recent Full Moon. The first week of this month is about nestling into the epiphanies you’ve received. October 1st, the Moon connects with wise Jupiter in earthy Taurus lending both learning and sensuality to your experience.
On October 2nd, the Moon meets with change agent Uranus bringing unexpected and possible liberating experiences. In a grand trine with Pluto and Mercury, new thoughts and concepts are likely. Think outside the box. Mercury opposes Neptune so be discerning.
Adjustments need to be made on the 3rd, when Venus forms an awkward angle with Neptune. Stand up for yourself.
October 4th, Mercury leaves analytical Virgo for the sophistication of Libra. The next three weeks give you the opportunity to develop avenues of communication before the deepening of Scorpio on October 21st.
Mars meets the south node on October 5th, it’s time to say goodbye to a course of action and/or a man. Or conversely, perhaps an action or a masculine person emerges from your past.
The next three days are full of feeling. It’s time to get grounded.
On October 8th Venus does a number of interesting things. She changes signs from Leo (where she made her mystical journey) to Virgo and meets with both Black Moon Lilith and Regulus, Leo’s blue star (on the 8th and 9th). Regulus is one of the royal stars of Persia and has been linked to ambition and success. Venus also opposes stern Saturn, bringing lessons your way. What changes are you making to your love life and your values? What insights are you applying to your life?
Also on the 8th, Mars squares Pluto allowing you to take a closer look at what changes you need to make.
October 10th, Pluto turns direct in square with the nodal access. International and governmental matters take center stage. Government shut down? Seriously?
Stay with the energy shift and on October 11th, notice how things shift for you when Mars leaves the decorum of Libra for its ancient home of Scorpio. Mars will stay in Scorpio until November 23rd. If you like, you can use this active planet’s sojourn through the intensity of the scorpion eagle to inform your life of things you may have hidden from yourself.
Over the next few days, the waning Moon prepares for an annular solar eclipse on October 14th. This eclipse can be seen over the western part of the United States and towns of the desert southwest are already booked with eager eclipse watchers.
This Libra New Moon eclipse at around 1:00pm on Saturday October 14th, features Mercury in Libra in opposition to tender Chiron in Aries. Just how fun is it to live alone? Just how fun is it to be in a relationship where you feel alone? This is a truth telling time about the quality of love and respect you have in your partnerships and especially with the relationship you have with yourself. Do you care about yourself? How do you show it?
The next few days resonate with the awareness the eclipse brought you. Deep feelings are possible as the slowly waxing Moon travels through intense Scorpio and brushes against Mars and then opposes Jupiter and Uranus. Sexual energy runs high. Political tensions and financial matters predominate.
On October 17th, the Sun meets the South Node and begs release from tension. Ego doesn’t serve you now. Balance and beauty do.
On October 18th, Mercury too meets with the Libra South node. A series of losses are possible, as are conversations about the past. Or conversely, the past returns, a sibling or neighbor brings up an old matter. Partnerships center or dissolve. This energy continues over the next few days. Pay attention to what comes up for you.
On October 20th, Mercury is cazimi (exactly conjunct) with the Sun and in a square with Pluto. It’s easy to push beyond your boundaries. Stay alert to what you’re doing and the decisions you’re making. This could be a developmental turning point. You can make great progress toward a common goal.
Deepening awareness on the 21st as the Moon meets Pluto and trines Uranus. Prepare for an energy shift.
Very early (MT) on the 22nd, Mercury leaves Libra for Scorpio followed by the Sun on October 23rd, making the same move. Happy birthday Scorpio! Clearly with two celestial bodies shifting gears at the same time, something needs processing at a deeper level. Scorpio energy prevails now making this your annual opportunity for greater sexual and psychological health. Have confidence that you’re on the right track for the Sun comes into a perfect angle of harmony with Saturn.
Through to the 25th the Moon travels through gentle Pisces bringing messages in dreams. Stay tuned.
The Moon is building to fullness and the coming eclipse. Over the next few days, pay attention to how you’re feeling and what your idea of yourself is as the Moon travels through independent Aries.
On October 28th at 2:24 pm MDT, the 5° Taurus Full Moon lunar eclipse brings illumination in more ways than one. At this time, Mercury and Mars connect in Scorpio and oppose abundant Jupiter in Taurus. This is a time of both action and insight. Let yourself both deepen and expand. Avoid arguments and the desire to be right.
On October 29th the Moon meets change-agent Uranus and brings a few surprises. Enjoy yourself!
The month ends on a lighthearted Gemini Moon. Whew, the heaviness of Full Moon is over. At month’s end allow yourself to continue your deep dive into self-awareness and relational wisdom.
And remember, you matter, we’re all connected, Earth is our home and love is our destination.
